  1. It’s looking like Warburton all over again. There is no Plan B. Plan A works OK in Europe and against expansive, attacking teams, but against the other 10 teams in the SPL who will just keep 11 men in their own half most of the time, we need to be scoring goals from midfield. So it has to be a 4-4-2. If fans don’t like it then tough. I can’t see Ibrox ever being empty if we’re winning though, whereas the current strategy of glamour managers, trying to play like Barcelona and having to spend £10-15million on a new squad every season can only last so long. We simply cannot keep chucking money away on managers with no managerial pedigree.

  2. That performance was much more typical of our season than the Celtic game. After 22 games we’re joint 4th. Everybody has played each other home & away now. A 4th place finish is much more likely than 1st place, in reality. We have 42 Pts at this stage, albeit 3 more than the previous 2 seasons. I can’t see Gerrard keep his job if we finish outside the top 2, unless he wins the Scottish Cup. Which wouldn’t surprise me either!

  3. I don’t mean to sound harsh, but I don’t understand why we keep giving this boy new contracts & sending him out on loan every year. He is a decent player, but not Rangers class. At best, he could be a poor mans Kyle Lafferty, but as we are seeing with Lafferty, his style suits a counter attacking team, which Rangers never will be. I don’t see Hardie ever getting into a good Rangers team, so can only assume the club are holding on to him till an English lower league side make a decent offer. I would just let him go personally.

  4. Thankfully those of us born after the 70s rarely got to experience these crushes at Ibrox, which is actually due to stadium reconstruction following the disaster. Have experienced being lifted off my feet a couple of times due to the crowd surge though, at England v Scotland at old Wembley, and once at Ibrox. Ironically it was a reserve game, against Celtic. Think it was during the winter break as there were 22,000 there. This was when we had 11 internationals in our reserve team, the likes of Kuznetsov and Duncan Ferguson. Anyway some bright spark decided to open the gates and let everybody in for nothing just after kick off, with thousands queuing outside the Copland stand. Don’t know if that made it better or worse, but it was frightening..

  5. A new low for Scottish football..? https://www.scottishfa.co.uk/news/scottish-fa-announce-scottish-cup-broadcasting-deals/?rid=2107

So we will need 3 subscriptions to watch Rangers games next season. Fans of all clubs are getting ripped a new one here! Do these plonkers at Hampden even realise this is the same mob under a different name (Setanta) who almost collapsed Scottish football a few years back when they went bust? Nice to see absolutely no lessons have been learned whatsoever! Apparently their coverage of our European qualifiers was ‘high quality’ yes, it certainly added to the excitement the screen going blank for at least 10 minutes in every game..

  6. I actually thought it was an ironic reference to Lee Wallace being called a ‘grass.’ Disturbing that a section of our support think they are above the law, a hit-and-run can’t ever be acceptable, if the driver was being attacked he should still have reported it himself. Also disturbing that Police Scotland are spending taxpayers money on ‘informants’ in these groups, other police forces have informants in the mafia & terrorist groups. The SNP police think organised crime means gangs of teenagers waving flags & singing at the football. Is that the level of ‘investigating’ being done at that new multi-million pound crime campus?? Can’t see CSI Gartcosh being a ratings winner on Netflix..

  7. Somebody ought to ask at the AGM how much all this dodgy legal advice King seems to get is costing us and him indeed, and I don’t just mean in fees. I checked online though and the club have indeed paid off the loans from Close Bros, so things ain’t that bad. But these losses simply can’t continue.

Ok! I never, we are a far better team than we were last year, and I believe SG is the man to get us back to the top given time, but if some fans are expecting to go to Moscow and win already then that must mean SG is on the right road.

I honestly don’t think we have improved since Warburton left. Fair enough I wouldn’t have expected us to beat any Russian team away last season, but fact is they gifted us 3 goals, looked very short of confidence & basically had all but chucked it at half time. Their defenders barely even bothered tracking back for that chance we had at the start of the 2nd half. Doesn’t matter who you are playing, if you get ahead you have to see it out & we never turned up in the 2nd half. Though I will say, that if that Morelos goal had stood, we’d be looking at a great result, but overall we shot ourselves in the feet.

  9. Before the game on BT Sports he told Emma Dodds that he picked Katic ahead of the usually dependable Worrall because Spartak were a threat at set pieces & he could defend them better. 4 goals conceded from crosses into the box suggests otherwise & there could have been more. Ejaria & Flanagan were mortifying yet again as well & you have to wonder if Juergen Klopp is picking the Rangers team now. As bad as Spartak were in the 1st half, we never really turned up in either half & have just blown a never to be repeated chance to qualify, against by far the worst team in the group!! There is a serious problem with this team holding on to leads. Basically get rid of the lot of them apart from McGregor & Morelos!!

  10. Hmm. I’m not sure Stevie G has chosen his strongest XI there. Worrall shouldn’t have been dropped, and Flanagan got dropped because he had a mare against Killie, so strange to bring him back for this one. I’m not bothered that Kent is missing because I am fed up with his feeble attempts to shoot from outside the box, however I do wonder if we are obliged to play these Liverpool loanees as I don’t think Ojaria & Kent are consistent enough, yet start every week! Big game for Katic, IMO

I used to have a pal whose parents came from Pakistan. We went to Ibrox a few times. I used to cringe when the chant went up "I'd rather be a Darkie than a Tim". How times have changed - for the better!

Times have changed, eh?? You’ve obviously never seen ‘EDL Abdul’ after the games..
