  1. I don't think it's all about football, if it was he should be gone.
  2. As forlan has said, but if he knew this was what he was going to say afterwards, you would think he would have the players up for this. According to guys at the game, he put Jig up front, we played better and equalised, immediately he put him back into defence, and we lost a goal. Ally is obviously not a good Manager, but this is more than just normal.
  3. If he had recruited a better scout, job done.
  4. They buy cheap and sell high, Charles sacked our Scout.
  5. As someone has said, if Ally walked who would we end up with? One of Greens mates, or maybe Dennis Wise!!!
  6. I've always thought the same, but can you imagine the impact on the fans if they both went?
  7. If it's Green v Ally and Walter the next game at Ibrox will be worth attending.
  8. If Ally goes will Walter stay?
  9. The first one was on, then replaced by the second. For anyone that didn't get to see it. ALLY McCOIST has accused Charles Green of treating Rangers and its fans with contempt and believes he has no interest in the club. The manager was furious to waken up this morning to comments from the former Light Blues chief executive â?? appointed as a consultant to the club yesterday - in a national newspaper. In the interview, he insisted McCoist had to win the league and a cup this season or he would â??have a problemâ??. Green also reiterated his belief last seasonâ??s team was the worst in the clubâ??s history and described events at Ibrox as â??a circusâ??. And he maintained heâ??d have raised season ticket prices this term and wouldnâ??t have given McCoist the volume of players Craig Mather has allowed him to recruit. The manager was furious in particular with the timing of Green dismissing the same squad from 2012/13 he was working with at todayâ??s League Cup tie against Forfar. Gers lost 2-1 after extra-time and McCoist feels the Yorkshiremanâ??s words played a part. He said: â??They were a terrible distraction and I found his comments appalling, I really did. â??Once again, he was reminding our boys who had a serious cup tie in four hours that he thinks they were the worst Rangers team in history. â??What kind of team talk is that from somebody who is supposed to have the clubâ??s best interests at heart? â??Heâ??s fooling nobody. Heâ??s trying to kid the fans on that heâ??s this, that and the next thing but heâ??s not interested in Rangers Football Club, not at all. â??I think itâ??s plain to see his contempt and total lack of respect for my players, the staff at the club, the supporters and Scottish football in general. Itâ??s totally unacceptable.â? McCoist went into this afternoonâ??s match at Station Park minus the eight new players he has recruited over the last few weeks. The difference in play without them was evident as Rangers struggled to break down their fellow League One opponents for large spells. Fraser Aird did cancel out Gavin Swankieâ??s early opener to force an additional half hour of play and there were chances for the Light Blues to edge it. Instead they fell to a second Swankie strike in windy conditions and McCoist knows his players didnâ??t perform the way they could have. He said: â??Iâ??m very disappointed. The team shooting with the wind obviously had a very strong advantage and conditions werenâ??t ideal. Forfar adapted better than us. â??With that said, once we did get the equaliser I thought we had chances to win the game and we should have done. It was a moment of slackness that cost us and we just switched off. â??Letâ??s put things into perspective though. It was last yearâ??s team playing â?? which did well for us last year â?? and we had eight lads in the stand who couldnâ??t play but whoâ??ll feature. â??For long periods of the game, we had the ball and we had great chances to score but we couldnâ??t convert and weâ??ll congratulate Dick Campbell and his team on their win. â??Now we look ahead to the Newcastle game, which will give us an opportunity to play lads our new chief executive has stood by and allowed to bring into the club. â??We have to remember weâ??ve brought in good players, people who have played in the Premier League, and Iâ??ve no doubt they will make us better.â? Replaced by . . . . ALLY McCOIST insists Rangers will improve after seeing them blow a number of opportunities to kill off Forfar and ultimately crash out of the League Cup to the Loons. The Light Blues had more possession than their Angus opponents in todayâ??s first round tie at Station Park and created several scoring chances. But they only took one of them through Fraser Aird nine minutes from the end of regulation time as he cancelled out Gavin Swankieâ??s opening goal. And all that did was delay a famous win for Dick Campbellâ??s team as Swankie struck again five minutes from the end of extra-time to notch a 2-1 victory for the hosts. Gers played without any of their eight summer recruits, all of whom were prevented from featuring due to competition rules regarding non-use of unregistered players. Ross Perry, Kyle Hutton, Emilson Cribari and Dean Shiels were each sidelined too by injuries as the Ibrox side turned out minus 12 squad members. Once the clubâ??s transfer embargo finishes at the end of the month, McCoist will finally be able to pick freely from his pool and the first XI will be much stronger then. In the meantime, he has to rouse his troops after this afternoonâ??s setback for Tuesdayâ??s home friendly with Newcastle then the League One opener against Brechin a week from now. McCoist said: â??Iâ??m very disappointed. The team shooting with the wind obviously had a very strong advantage and conditions werenâ??t ideal. Forfar adapted better than us. â??With that said, once we did get the equaliser I thought we had chances to win the game and we should have done. 10. I was on about Ally as a Manager all of last season and I can't see anything changing my mind, but if it comes to Ally v Green there is only one winner.
  11. Ally McCoist tells media he's "absolutely appalled" at Charles Green's comments in today's press which contributed to today's defeat.
  12. It was Greens fault!!!
  13. We haven't been that good pre-season, wins against lower league teams, draws and defeats against half decent teams. That was with our new signings as well. We really are a shambles on the park, and off.
  14. Week-end just been ruined
  15. Hemmings scored a hat-trick for Cowdenbeath.
  16. Just going to ask.
  17. Come on now Rangers.
  18. New players struggle against Dundee, old players struggle against Forfar. Same old.
  19. Sounds very familiar, nothing improved.
  20. Bloody hell 1-0 Forfar
  21. Anybody watching??
  22. http://t.co/7q2pCdrsD6 RANGERS Chief Executive Craig Mather has issued the following statement today. He said: “Rangers Football Club is a 141-year-old institution built for success and along with the Board of Directors, I am determined to conduct business with honour, dignity and integrity. The men who created this great club would expect no less. “During my time as a main investor and now as Chief Executive, I have learned about the club's rich history and proud traditions. "So it is with deep regret that I find I must address the recent frenzy that has surrounded this great club. "Again there are those attempting to bang down the doors simply because they feel they should be inside before any others and for no good reason other than self gain and arrogance. "It doesn't matter to them that they have not invested or helped the club, or that they failed to make even a remotely credible attempt to save this fantastic club in its darkest hours. "Not a single one of them stepped forward willing to invest their own money. Yet now they think they can waltz into the club. "This club needs commitment and unity. It does not require the type of people who stood back and did nothing when Rangers were in trouble. "Now, as Rangers has been climbing on to more solid ground and as the fans are heartened by what they've seen, these men emerge from the shadows with empty promises. They should be ashamed. "It is surely no coincidence that they waited until the signs are positive and strong. “Ally McCoist has enjoyed a positive pre-season programme, we have added eight new players to the squad to get Rangers back to the top flight and more than 34,000 supporters have bought season tickets for the new campaign. “There was a positivity and excitement ahead of the new season and this was heightened by last weekend's victory and slick performance against Albion Rovers. “It is therefore disappointing that once again we are distracted by non-football matters that do nothing but destabilise this club. “Rangers fans are well aware that there have been various people trying to grab pieces of their club for years now and to force themselves into positions of power. “However, all they have ever done and continue to do is have a negative effect when I and the other directors are trying to focus totally on taking Rangers back to the pinnacle of Scottish football. “It is a difficult task and yet again we are seeing people attempting to make it impossible. "But we will not be defeated, I certainly won't, and we will meet this latest ill-considered and ill-timed challenge head on. “Let me stress that I, as Chief Executive, a position I am privileged and honoured to hold, and all of the other directors are firmly behind Ally McCoist and his team as we embark on stage two of our journey “I urge all of our fans not to listen to rhetoric or empty promises and continue to support the manager and those of us who do genuinely have Rangers' best interests at heart. “Everyone is entitled to an opinion, including Charles Green. But what I want to make clear is this: Backing the manager and the playing staff in their quest to restore Rangers' fortunes is critical to our ambitions. "That and resolving to stand firm against anyone who would drag Rangers down in their selfish desire to promote themselves. "This great club is bigger and more important than any of them, or any other individual."
  23. Wilson to my mind, is the best we have.
  24. I agree, more of control than a buy-out.
  25. ''It is understood Mr McColl has put his name to the call for a general meeting, but is unlikely to back financially any attempts to buy a controlling stake in the club.'' So if McColl isn't, who's financing this?
