  1. Well done to Gordon James.
  2. Are these people known Rangers Supporters or anonymous posters?
  3. SELF-CONFESSED gambling addict Kevin Kyle insists the SFA opened the floodgates by charging Ian Black with football betting offences. The Rangers midfielder is at the centre of a betting scandal after being accused by the governing body of putting money on his own team not to win matches on three occasions. He is also alleged to have bet in 10 games involving clubs he was playing with at the time – and of gambling on 147 matches between March 4, 2006, and July 28 this year. But Kyle, who has admitted to his own gambling problems, is adamant betting is rife among footballers and that the SFA could find themselves charging dozens of players if they are embarking on a crackdown. The striker, who played with Black at Rangers and Hearts, said: “If the SFA are going to charge Ian Black they may as well charge us all. “Footballers betting on games they are playing in is nothing new, it’s a well-established culture which has taken place for generations. “It’s impossible to expect players not to bet as the SFA take the money from betting firms and sponsors who are involved in the gambling industry so they can’t have it both ways. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/kevin-kyle-says-sfa-charge-2190196?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
  4. This happens all the time in Horse Racing, suspicious betting patterns are far easier to spot nowadays with the advance of internet betting. To tell the truth I couldn't care less who/why he was reported, if he is guilty or not guilty I would rather he was miles away from Ibrox. Not someone you would want around youngsters at the Club.
  5. They all seemed fine with Fury until they realised he was in the RST, this set the cat among the pigeons for a few [RM and Vanguard]. It didn't do David Edgar much good either. It seems the RST/MD are hated as much as celtc by some Rangers Supporters.
  6. Perhaps it is before the meeting tomorrow.
  7. Is this the turning point?? Colin Kingsnorth, who is one of the founders of Laxey Partners, confirmed the firm's voting intentions. He told STV on Monday: "We are going to support the supporters’ clubs wish on votes which we believe is to change the board at the moment."
  8. A firm investing in Rangers has announced it will vote in favour of removing directors as it has increased its stake in the club. Laxey Partners Limited, which purchased a further one million shares in Rangers International Football Club plc last Thursday, confirmed it would back the stance taken by supporters' groups at a proposed general meeting. The Isle of Man-registered hedge fund now has a 6.53% stake in the company after purchasing the shares for around £410,000. On Monday, Laxey Partners stated that it would vote in line with Rangers Supporters Association, Assembly and Trust in calling for the removal of directors. Institutional investors in Rangers International submitted a requisition calling for the general meeting to remove chief executive Craig Mather, financial director Brian Stockbridge and director Bryan Smart from their roles. The motion calling for the meeting is also demanding the appointment of former Rangers director Paul Murray and ex-PricewaterhouseCoopers chief Frank Blin to the board. Colin Kingsnorth, who is one of the founders of Laxey Partners, confirmed the firm's voting intentions. He told STV on Monday: "We are going to support the supporters’ clubs wish on votes which we believe is to change the board at the moment." This came on the back of a joint statement from the three supporters groups who have challenged the board to remove former chief executive Charles Green from his role as a paid consultant at the club, as well as for it to confirm the legitimacy of the requisition notice and to fix a date for the general meeting. The supporters' groups are calling on all fan shareholders to either vote in favour of or proxy their votes in favour of the proposed removal of the three Rangers office bearers to be replaced by Mr Murray and Mr Blin. Should the general meeting go ahead, the requisition notice requires at least 51% of all votes cast in order for it to pass. Fans invested £5.2m at 70p-per-share to buy an 11.4% stake in Rangers International last year and their votes could have a major say in whether the boardroom changes take place. On Tuesday, the Rangers board is scheduled to discuss the future of Mr Green, who stated in media interviews following his return that questions should be asked over the future of the club’s manager Ally McCoist should they fail to win either the Scottish or League cups this season. Laxey, which is led by Mr Kingsworth and fellow investment banker Andrew Pegge, is believed to have paid £1m for one million shares as an initial investor in the newco Rangers last October. As part of that deal, it guaranteed its shareholding would not be diluted. In December, when Rangers International Football Club plc was floated on the stock market, its initial share price was 70p, which was lower than the firm’s initial payment-per-share. Mr Green has agreed to transfer a chunk of his 7.7% shareholding in the company to Laxey. In a previous announcement to the London Stock Exchange, Rangers confirmed 714,285 shares owned by Mr Green would be transferred to Laxey in December this year, when his 12 month lock-in agreement over selling his shares expires. Laxey’s current stake of 6.53% does not include these further shares. When Mr Green’s share are transferred to Laxey, it will have a 7.6% stake in Rangers, while the Yorkshireman’s shareholding would represent 6.69% of voting rights in the company. This would make Laxey one of the largest single shareholders in Rangers International, behind investment managers Hargreave Hale, which has a 7.71% stake. Mr Green purchased five million shares in Rangers at knock-down price of 1p each as part of an agreement entered into on October 31 last year. This came days after the deal with Laxey, which was dated October 19, 2012. http://t.co/ke3WrbwXHe

  10. There are many who we cannot trust, just because Jackson works for the Record doesn't mean we should dismiss everything he says.
  11. ''As I've said many times, people should try supporting another Scottish team for a wee while and see how they enjoy it. You can't demand the best, have 45k paying through the turnstiles and then not pay for the best you can afford''. I'm not sure we can afford them, but time will tell.
  12. Are the Shares they have been promised in December to be added to the 6.5% ?
  13. Sounds more of a Statement from the Trust than anybody else.
  14. Laxey Partners now hold a 6.53% stake in Rangers, confirmed by London Stock Exchange. http://www.londonstockexchange.com/exchange/news/market-news/market-news-detail.html?announcementId=11682127
  15. I don't agree with paying these wages either, we should be certain they actually stayed there of course.
  16. JOINT STATEMENT BY THE RANGERS SUPPORTERS ASSEMBLY, THE RANGERS SUPPORTERS ASSOCIATION, AND THE RANGERS SUPPORTERS TRUST. There are significant concerns among our worldwide fan base over the conduct of former CEO, Charles Green. Mr.Green has been very outspoken in the media, and has clearly undermined the manager and the team. He is also purported to be giving support to a financial claim to be made against the club which we feel represents a conflict of interest for him and the club. We strongly urge the Board to terminate Mr Green’s consultancy role and make a clear decision to either accept the requisition to make changes to the Board, or confirm the date of the EGM. In the event that an EGM is necessary, we will canvass supporters’ opinion on the matter, and The Trust will use its vote in accordance with the instructions of the members. At this stage, however, we believe it in order to recommend that all fans who are shareholders to vote, or proxy their votes to support the proposed motion to replace three current board members. We will provide further guidance on how this can be done if and when the EGM is confirmed We were greatly concerned at the fans’ meeting on August 8th to learn that there is only £10m in the club’s account. This is especially worrying considering the club has benefited from two seasons worth of season ticket sales (over 70,000) as well as the £22m raised in last year’s IPO. From the wording of the EGM requisition, and the media comments of Jim McColl, we understand the requisition does not mean a potential takeover of the club but is an attempt by a large group of shareholders to have their views represented on the Board and to bring much-needed stability to the club. We are confident that fans will support Mr McColl and his colleagues and we can also work with them towards a fan ownership/representation model. Mr McColl has confirmed to us that he remains supportive of fan ownership/representation and will look to explore this further when the club has been stabilised. All Rangers fans expect the Board to act decisively when they meet on Tuesday, and we confirm we shall continue to keep all members of the Rangers family as informed as we can at this very testing time. http://www.therst.co.uk/joint-statement-ahead-of-board-meeting/
  17. I would be surprised if they have paid over the odds in their life, that's why they have money.
  18. I would hope we could get back to this, but...... Different times, different circumstances.
  19. The media can defend themselves all they want, we either think of them as believable or not, pieces like this makes no difference. What stood out for me in the Article was this, if true it's crazy. ''And it came 24 hours or so after McCoist and his squad checked into five-star luxury at Turnberry to prepare for a League One trip to Stranraer – an extravagance which was not lost on the club’s anxious staff, many of whom have been living in fear of redundancies and restructuring''.
  20. I'm sure we could loan him out, with a clause saying he can return if needed.
  21. This should be put up in the Boardroom before Tuesday. ''What he sees at Ibrox – off the field at any rate – is ugliness and upset. There’s always been power battles at Ibrox, he says, from James Bowie versus Bill Struth and even before. “What these people have got to remember is that, whoever takes the club, all they are is custodians. The life of the place is the fans. Some of the old guys have been supporters for 80 years. Sons, fathers, grandfathers going in there for long before we were born and will be going in long after we’re gone. We’ve had boardroom battles but it was kept within the four walls. Let them get on with it but what they’ve got to remember is don’t embarrass our club. I speak on behalf of the fans now. They’re sick of it. They want to get on with it.”
