Unless your in USA.

If I am abroad and asked where I come from, I say Scotland not UK. Doesn't mean I'm not proud to be British.
-
I would be very happy and probably surprised if we got to a couple of Finals. I guess we will come up against them at some time, not sure I will look forward to it.
-
I want to look forward to games again, last season was a chore.
-
hahaha, nice one.:fish: Let us say, where once we were Scottish first and British second, now it seems to be reversed. To the the detriment of the Club in my eyes.

Can't argue with that mate.

There was probably always some in the 50s/60s, but nothing like the upsurge in the 70s.

They were mainly waved and flown for their colours, I agree about Ulster, that's when you heard more and more Orange songs being sung.

I do move with the times . . . backwards. First, I didn't say I used any of these words. Second, I disagree with your Politics. Third, as a young Rangers Supporter I hope you will learn as you get older.

http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/club-news/item/4582-gers-announce-by-official-appointment RANGERS Football Club has announced a new Rangers Business Alliance commercial initiative - By Official Appointment (BOA) â?? a first for a Scottish football club. Rangers is the first Scottish football club to introduce â??By Official Appointmentâ?? to bring together a family of businesses under one common banner with the purpose of generating revenue and sharing best practice. Rangers Manager Ally McCoist fully supports the initiative and was pictured with the Clubâ??s Commercial Business Manager Raj Athwal and Derek Bond â?? Founder and Managing Director of Squareknot, and the first person to sign up for the initiative. Raj said: â??Within Glasgow and across Scotland it has been recognised that there is a group of businesses who share two important characteristics - they are very good at what they do and would benefit from a closer relationship with Rangers Football Club. â??Ultimately the BOA programme is aimed at bringing together local and regional businesses and loyal Rangers fans, in order to generate more business and help our supporters receive the best possible service from local businesses. "By having the opportunity to gain access to our loyal supporters, this will enable our BOA partners to increase their customer base and net sales. â??We encourage organisations and representatives from all types of businesses â?? from painter & decorators, to restaurants, recruitment firms, financial services and blue chip companies â?? to use the BOA to engage with each other as the opportunities for businesses to expand their networking and ultimately revenue streams are enormous.â? Ally McCoist commented: â??Rangers is much more than a football club and we are very proud to launch the â??By Official Appointmentâ?? initiative that will help bring this 141-year-old institution closer to businesses in the local and wider community. â??Businesses who sign up and support the BOA will also help the Club develop and progress commercially and I have no doubt Raj and the team will cultivate good business relations around the country to the benefit of all parties involved.â? Derek Bond commented: â??I was very enthusiastic about this initiative from the start as I have always thought there was a huge opportunity for Rangers to work closely with the business community in developing mutually beneficial links which have not always been exploited. Creating â??By Official Appointmentâ?? is a major step towards maximising this opportunity. â??I am particularly enthusiastic about the business networking events that will give me the opportunity to promote Squareknot to all of the other alliance members, as well as all the other marketing opportunities that come within the membersâ?? benefits package. "For me it is a complete win-win situation as Rangers profit financially and all the businesses get an opportunity to benefit from the wide range of promotional initiatives that are included within the programme.â? Him and Wallace were the only two who would have got in the Sheffield team to be honest.
-
I don't think the Sheffield folk knew what the songs were, and wouldn't understand the words anyway. I had a laugh with the lad, when we ( not me) were belting out 'Bobby Sands he's deed', I don't think the locals had a scooby.

Don't forget the fans wouldn't get away with their repertoire in Scotland. Also Rangers to my memory before 1969 were more a Scottish Club than British, I never remember 'Rule Britannia' getting sung at Ibrox, could be wrong. Apart from that, another good Article WATP.

To tell the truth I didn't think he would sign, watching him on Wednesday he looked so far ahead of the other Rangers players, technique, pace and physique. It makes me wonder just a bit why other teams haven't signed him.

OK, I'm 66 and my son told me a few years ago not to say it, fine no problem. Only trouble is 40 years ago I was told to call the blacks coloured, which we all eventually did. Now if I were to talk about someone who is black, say in the heat of the moment without thinking first, I don't know if I wouldn't say coloured. I would mean no offense, yet what would younger folk think ?

Only seen him Wed night, agree with forlan, looked different class truth be told.

Sorry to hear that mate, where do you live ?

The Summer 2013 Transfers and Rumours Thread
chilledbear replied to der Berliner's topic in Rangers Chat
Ally McCoist has not given up hope of agreeing a contract with defender Bilel Mohsni. His agent held talks with Craig Mather, chief executive of the Ibrox club, ahead of a friendly with Sheffield Wednesday on Wednesday night but they have yet to agree terms. However, McCoist is optimistic that a contract will be agreed. Mohsni would then sign for the club officially after Rangers' registration embargo ends on September 1. "All I know is the player wants to come," said the Rangers manager. The Ibrox club are also reportedly in discussions to form a partnership with Dutch club Fortuna Sittard, which would allow youth coaches to swap between clubs and Rangers' youth players be loaned to Sittard. The talks have been facilitated by Fernando Ricken, who played for both clubs. "Rangers seem to show a lot of interest," said the Dutchman. http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/football/talks-are-ongoing-to-take-mohsni-to-ibrox.21693357 -

The Sheffield Star view. http://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/sheffield-wednesday/match-report-sheffield-wednesday-1-rangers-0-1-5887216 Rangers fans brought Scottish fervour to Hillsborough last night and refused to be subdued by their team’s first defeat in six pre-season games. Almost 5,000 away fans kept up an incredible barrage of noise even though Wednesday gave a sound performance and won 1-0 with an early goal from Michail Antonio. Owls fans in a crowd of more than 16,000 enjoyed themselves too on an occasion that was no ordinary friendly. Boisterous Rangers fans could be seen in the streets and outside pubs in the Hillsborough area and city centre long before the game. A nd inside the ground the atmosphere became more like that of a cup-tie, with away fans filling the upper and lower West Stand and making themselves heard. They were also allowed to stretch flags across seats in the empty north-west corner, plus a big one in the middle of the near-empty North Stand. Blue and red smoke arose from the away end as the teams were read out - and some boos greeted the announcement of ex-Rangers midfield player Rhys McCabe in the Wednesday side, on his 21st birthday Owls fans, who were in the Kop and the South Stand, added their voices to the din and were almost cheering a goal inside two minutes, with Gary Madine missing the target with headers in front of the Kop. The crosses came from Joe Mattock and Michail Antonio, who was on the right wing as Jermaine Johnson partnered Madine up front. Antonio struck in the 12th minute and became the first man to score against Rangers in their first six friendlies. A Mattock right-side corner was helped on at the near post; Antonio mis-hit his shot downwards, the ball bounced up, then dipped and clipped the underside of the bar on its way to the net. Wednesday defended soundly against whatever balls were played into their box in the first half,. Trialist centre half Kamil Zayatte looked strong and capable on the right side of captain Martin Taylor. Rangers tried to make progress patiently, but Wednesday threatened through the pace of Jeremy Helan, Johnson and Antonio. It was an incisive move when Liam Palmer, again looking assured at right back, found the overlapping Antonio and his low cross was kept away from Madine at the near post by fine defending from Rangers right back Sebastian Faure. Chris Kirkland was replaced by Adam Davies in only the 31st minute for a reason that was not obvious. There seemed to be mutual respect and no antagonism between the rival sets of fans. A banner saying ‘drummer Lee Rigby - lest we forget’ was passed from the away end to Owls fans who were at the bottom corner of the South Stand. The tribute to the murdered soldier was also applauded when it was paraded around the pitch at half time. Antonio was looking for first blood in the second half with a powerful shot to the near post that was held by Gallacher in the 55th minute. By then Antonio had been switched to the left, with Helan taken off and Chris Maguire coming on to the right flank. When ex-Sheffield United and Millers midfielder Nicky |Law dragged the ball across goal from a narow angle, it was Rangers’ first half-chance of the game. Law set up striker Andrew Little for a better opportunity but Davies caught the ball cleanly. Little also turned cleverly past Taylor and fired a good chance wide. Madine volleyed a difficult opening over the bar from a fiercely struck ball by Maguire. Again Rangers should have scored: unmarked sub Nicky Clark shot wide. Paul Corry’s introduction on the left side of the Owls midfield meant Johnson going off and Antonio switching back up front. A fine long-range strike by Lewis Macleod was beaten away by Davies and Bilel Mohsni missed from close range from the rebound but was offside anyway. Probably no-one would have begrudged Rangers a draw - and their fans certainly made a big impression - not least with a big chorus of God Save the Queen which was applauded by home supporters near the end And applause for the players came from all areas of the ground after the final whistle.
