Clean sheets are good, would like to see the new strikers scoring soon.

'29 - Brilliant play by Gutersloh creating a chance for Kraus, but once again it was Mohsni with a last gasp tackle to snuff out the danger. They seem to be making a few chances.

Perhaps Hutton and McLeod on Saturday

I never realised Forrest wasn't in the HOF. I see it as a waste of a good idea, but Jim Forrest probably deserves it more than some.

One of a very few who have been Manager of Rangers. RIP DAVIE.

http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/item/4517-living-within-our-means CRAIG MATHER has assured Rangers fans the club is living within its means and revealed the first-team playersâ?? wage bill is currently lower than it was last season. The new chief executive has spoken of restructuring at the Light Blues which is designed to give the Ibrox outfit a more sustainable business model to follow. That extends as far as Ally McCoistâ??s squad, where Mather is willing to add more new faces as long as certain salaries are removed from the pool as well. Highly-paid Carlos Bocanegra and Dorin Goian recently agreed to end their contracts early and that came at a cost. But the likes of Neil Alexander, Francisco Sandaza and Kevin Kyle are amongst those to have moved on too and that makes for an overall saving. Some supporters have expressed concern about the volume of new recruits McCoist has been allowed to bring in, with many assuming extra cash is being spent. But Mather is adamant itâ??s simply the case that the budget provided is being worked well and is keen to stress thereâ??s no reason to panic. He said: â??People are talking about the signings we have made and weâ??ve agreed deals to bring in seven players so far but in comparison to last yearâ??s wage bill, itâ??s less this season. â??Yes, weâ??re bringing more people in but weâ??ve worked hard to ensure from a financial perspective weâ??re living within our means. â??Weâ??re bringing in the right players at the right price but donâ??t get me wrong, weâ??ve got some more work to do as well. â??Alistair is more than aware some of the players will need to move on and he wants to bring more in. â??Iâ??d like to think we can maybe do a bit more shopping in pre-season and perhaps bring in one or two new faces but thereâ??s potential for a couple to move on too. â??We are working hard to create a financially-sound structure which we can build foundations on. â??This football club has been through a torrid time and itâ??s very difficult, unless you do it now, to restructure. â??Once you gather momentum and you go back through the leagues, your wage bill grows. We have to make structural changes now and we are doing that.â? Mather is in Germany for this eveningâ??s pre-season friendly with FC Gutersloh at the Heidewaldstadion in North Rhine-Westphalia. He travelled to Germany with chairman Walter Smith yesterday and went straight into lengthy discussions with boss McCoist about the future for the club last night. In the months ahead, Rangers will play in the third tier of Scottish football as they continue their journey back to the top of the game. And talks were very much aimed at how best to go about trying to become domestic champions once more and progressing into the European arena from there in the long run. Mather, speaking on RangersTV, added: â??We had a long chat yesterday and weâ??ve talked again this morning. â??Even on the flight over here, Walter and I spoke literally non-stop about ideas and the three of us had a number of hours together last night. â??We were talking about the existing structure, my relationship with Walter and Alistair and ensuring we all have the same vision, which we do. It was very productive. â??Our vision is to get the club back winning leagues on a regular basis and playing in Europe and the biggest thing we established last night is how we go about doing that. â??The Champions League is the pinnacle of football and we need to be able to compete at that top level but with the knowledge weâ??re financial security.â?

'RANGERS have stepped up their bid to bring Kenny Miller back to the club. SunSport can reveal a move to land Vancouver Whitecaps hitman Miller for a THIRD spell is now firmly on the cards. Boss Ally McCoist has brought in strikers Jon Daly and Nicky Clark and has Lee McCulloch and Andy Little to call on. He wouldn’t be drawn on specific names but admitted: “I’d like one more striker who would complement someone like Jon Daly. Maybe someone who could go in behind a little bit more with a bit of pace to turn a defence. “I’ve been delighted with big Jon and Nicky Clark but I think we need more in that department.” Miller, 33, revealed in January he’d jump at a return to Gers, who he left for Bursapsor in 2011. The Scotland star — Whitecaps’ highest earner on £750,000-a-year — is contracted until the MLS season ends in October. He would either have to do a deal to free himself now or sign a pre-contract to join Gers in January. McCoist discussed targets with chief executive Craig Mather and chairman Walter Smith after they jetted to the club’s German training base last night. He added: “We’ve lost six from last season and brought seven in. I said we needed four or five so we still need another three.” http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...#ixzz2ZFpSglxk

ALLY McCOIST maintains his strikers will start scoring soon and has credited them with more fluid forward play by Rangers so far this pre-season. The Light Blues will play the fourth friendly of their warm-up campaign this evening when they play FC Gutersloh a few miles from their German training camp. They’ll go into that game with three victories behind them already against Brora, Elgin and Bristol City, all achieved without any goals being conceded. The only people to find the net for Gers so far have been midfielders, with Fraser Aird getting the winner at Borough Briggs and Lewis Macleod netting in games either side. But that doesn’t concern McCoist, who has been pleased by the contributions he has had from new recruits Nicky Clark and Jon Daly, along with Lee McCulloch and Andy Little. The manager said: “I can’t have it both ways, even if I’d love to. I can’t say I want more goals from midfield then moan that the strikers aren’t scoring when it happens. “That would be hypocritical of me to do that and I don’t have any doubt the strikers will get us goals. Their time will come soon enough. “Lee and Andy got us in the region of 50 goals last season which was a fantastic return. Now the boys are looking to Nicky and big Jon to score and that’ll happen. “I don’t have any doubts that’ll happen and I’m not worried about that at all. I’m actually far more encouraged by our forward play in general. “People are getting forward more to score from the middle of the park. Lewis has taken his goals well and Fraser scored a lovely one for us at up Elgin.” In particular, McCoist has been thrilled with the way Daly has settled into his squad and the ex-Dundee United attacker is someone he sees as one of the natural leaders in the pool. The 30-year-old has brought more experience to the group and he has brought a lot of the attributes the manager expected him to. McCoist added: “Anybody you speak to about Jon has nothing but good words to say about the big fella. He’s exactly what we’ve wanted. “He’s probably an older-type centre-forward who really knows the game and knows how to play it. He takes up fantastic positions and works his socks off. “Jon also peels away from the ball as well as any centre-forward I’ve seen in a long, long time. He takes up great positions for a player of his type. “Just as importantly, or maybe even more so, he is leading by example. He’s a smashing professional and a really good person who is aware of his responsibilities on and off the park. “Jon’s own work rate is good but he’s helping others there too and he has been an absolute breath of fresh air, as we hoped and thought he would be.”

http://www.scotsman.com/the-scotsman/sport/football/rangers-sfa-to-make-no-further-ibrox-probe-1-3003679 THE SFA have told Rangers that the ruling body wonâ??t be launching a further enquiry into last yearâ??s takeover of the club by the consortium fronted by Charles Green. Revelations of taped conversations between discredited former owner Craig Whyte with Green and business partner Imran Ahmad prompted then chairman Malcolm Murray to commission an independent investigation of that buy-out by law firm Pinsent Mason. Although their report cleared Green (who stood down as chief executive in April) and Ahmad (removed as finance director at Ibrox the same month) SFA CEO Stewart Regan claimed in May that they may launch their own investigation. â??We have asked a number of specific questions relating to what went on in the period leading up to liquidation and the period surrounding the transfer of membership,â? he said. â??There are some very specific questions we have asked that require some very specific answers. If we donâ??t get those answers, we reserve the right to further investigation. â??The nature of the questions we have asked relate to the links between Green, Ahmad and Whyte, the details surrounding money that was lodged in Ahmadâ??s motherâ??s bank account and various conversations that allegedly took place.â? However, it emerged last night that the SFA have decided that there is no case for Green and Ahmad to answer. On the basis of the evidence they have seen from the Pinsent Mason findings, they have ruled that there is no requirement for the issue to be referred to compliance officer Vincent Lunny.

http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/item/4499-kal-goes-for-deal Knew Naismith was for the off, first I knew about Argy.

Then we have Temps, Shields, McKay, Aird, Crawford, and if Ally doesn't think he is a striker Little. Perhaps even Smith on the left, some bodies in midfield, all for the second division. Crazy. and we will be lucky if we can move any on for a transfer fee.

SCOTT GALLACHER says he’s ready to play competitively for Rangers – but accepts going out on loan in the next few weeks is the best thing for his long-term development.
