With the number of fans we have globally 1 million should be a walk in the park to achieve.  Though we know it wont be unfortunately.

Craig, the RST raised £250k in under a week in 2012 because people knew it was going directly to the Club so it’s achievable.

The survey only asks that those in favour of moving to such a section give their details. Other members get no say, even although it’s our money that may be used for this idea. Read elsewhere that the UB have only 50 members, why is Club1872 even talking about this? How many disabled fans do we have ?

What I don’t understand is that we were told at the AGM that there would be a full consultation exercise before any plans were made to implement this. Is this survey in addition to that?

  3. It is absolutely freezing out there. No shit!

I’m seriously considering body swerving this tonight? I don’t remember it being this cold when I was younger.....

I’m feeling exactly the same. Feet up in a lovely warm house and no getting stuck in traffic both before and after the game. I feel guilty though.

  4. Club 1872 Board Elections 2017

    Dear Member,

The following have been elected to the Board of Club 1872:

    Laura Fawkes

    Joanne Percival

    Stuart MacQuarrie

    Iain Mullholland

    Bruce Taylor

    Euan Macfarlane

Please click here to login and view each candidate's application and personal statement.

With six applicants for the seven available places, all have been elected without a contest.

The election was overseen by Alasdair Morrison and Andrew Jenkin from Supporters Direct.

    Alasdair Morrison said:

“I am grateful to Andrew Jenkin from Supporters Direct for his guidance during the election process. We have to undertake a few formalities with Companies House to formalise the appointment of the elected Board, as directors of Club 1872 and associated companies.

The application forms completed by the new Board members have been uploaded to the website. In due course, an evening meeting for Club 1872 members to meet the Board, will be arranged. The Board will also be meeting with the Club 1872’s six working groups. I am sure I speak for the entire membership in wishing our new Board the very best, as they develop the reach and influence of Club 1872.”

It’s wrong to say they were elected, they weren’t.

  5. I've accumulated a number of shares in the club, initially out of a sense of loyalty in the first issue and then progressively after the price fell significantly. I consciously avoided the RF and RST schemes simply because I prefer to make my own decisions and plough my own furrow. I fully expect to see the value of my investment crippled by the dilution of a future share issue but, since I have no pretence at influencing anything at the club, it won't disappoint me too much. If the deal is right I might even take up the next share offer.

Which brings me to a question that you look best placed to answer. Its a genuine question and I've no wish to grind axes over it. It's this. While I'm happy to accept your assertion that 10% shareholding is an impressive total, are you saying that the accumulation of those share is the achievement - or is it something that only the ownership of those share allows Club1872 to do? If it's the former, will Club1872 be able to fund 10% of any future share issue or (like me) is it prepared to see its shareholding diluted. If it's the latter, what are the specific achievements Club1872 has achieved or hopes to achieve in the future as a result of its shareholding?

These are probably quite obvious points to those of you who have followed the emergence of Club1872 but, as I've said before, I've paid little attention to it this far.

Edit: I should perhaps add that I did place my own shares at the discretion of Vanguardbears in terms of voting privileges.

Doesn’t your final sentence totally contradict what you said earlier? Many of us have our own shares but also choose to put monthly donations into a collective fans’ shareholding.

  6. Couldn’t care less who RFV is but they contacted the reg who made 1872 backtrack.

As for the working party resigning en masse,cg just happened to be passing through swanning about like he owns Ibrox ?

So because a bunch of anonymous people say they contacted the regulator and made Club 1872 backtrack you believe them?

  7. Who are the usual suspects ? as far as you know the regulator was not involved due to being contacted by the usual suspects,so their concerns were not taken up by the regulator.

It was only the benevolence of 1872 ? asking the regulator to check over CG’s edict that threw up this anomaly, which had been pointed out on here as well as other places long before this latest revelation.

1872 and blair are well matched, club vehicles.

I’m not sure what you’re talking about, Are you? The wording of the new articles is exactly the same as it was for RF. As for your CG edict nonsense, grow up.

  8. The clue is the word inherit, you never did answer if the regulator became involved.

I know what the word inherit means. My point was that unless it was written into a will or a person was nominated, how would Club 1872 know who is to be given the life membership? The regulator, as far as I know, was asked to look over the draft articles and give the go ahead. She hasn’t done so due to complaints from the usual suspects.

  9. Well if that was the case , why were we not asked to nominate a person when we took out the life membership , ive looked back at all my correspondence and no where does it mention this .

How were life members expected to nominate someone if they were never informed .

The more excuses get trotted out the bigger the whole becomes , time to stop digging pal

What happened with RF was nothing to do with me. I was not a member as you probably know.

  10. That's not 100% correct and you know that , there are more than a few who are deeply unhappy about what went on in club1872 , as Joanne can vouch for , the fact is the past is getting rewritten yet again , the memberships that were sold to over 900 rangers fans have now been changed , there was absolutely no comments /talk about having to "will" you life membership , I was at the same hustings that you were at , and again no mention of this , we have been lied to by JB yet again , unfortunately it really is that simple .

B, I think you’re letting your hatred of JB get in the way here. Unless you nominated the person you wanted to inherit when you bought it, how could Club 1872 ever decide who was to inherit it if the owner had multiple heirs?

  11. The more I read about "Rangers Fans Vouce", the more sceptical I am of their motive.... or origins. A lot like some posts on here.

It’s clear to me that they are a small bunch who failed to get elected and didn’t want Club 1872 to have any success unless they were in control.

  12. I'm sure this is obvious to you now but perhaps you should have known better than to trust anything to come out of this RST lookalike. The Trust was patently untrustworthy and from the little I've seen, Club1872 was shaken from the same tree by the same breed of monkey.

    Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  13. As the Returning Officer for the constituency of Gersnet, I hereby declare that the total number of votes cast for each DATE in the poll for the Date of the next OFFICIAL GERNSET DINNER is as follows:

    • 10 March v Celtic 3 votes (17.65%)

    17 March v Kilmarnock 8 votes (47.06%)

    • 7 April v Dundee 6 votes (35.29%)

And that 17 March 2017 v Kilmarnock has been duly selected as the date of the 6th Official Gersnet Dinner.

The venue will be La Fiorentina Restaurant, 2 Paisley Rd W, Glasgow G51 1LE.

    Further details to follow.

But, but, but that's St Paddy's day. Surely that can't be right.:whistling:

  14. I have sent out a number of texts and PM's to folk who have attended in the past but not so far posted on this thread.

So far as I am aware, therefore, everyone who has attended in the past should now be aware of the poll for the date of the next dinner.

Got your text. I voted for the Dundee game but could make all three.

  15. Those of us who believe that shares are the most important aspect are in a minority amongst the Rangers support. Bear in mind that, at our lowest point in recent years, we only managed to attract circa 14,000 fans into fan share buying schemes. The reasoning behind the projects was to try to attract new members who were not previously interested in share ownership. There could be lots of things that people could say the Board should be doing but their main priority is getting the team right and maintaining the stadium. The projects can fund things that wouldn't be getting done by the club in the short term or things that would enhance the fans' experience.

  16. Re-appointment of Laura Fawkes and Joanne Percival

    Dear member

Club 1872 is delighted to announce the re-appointment of Laura Fawkes and Joanne Percival as Club 1872 directors following a poll of members over the last week.

Members voted 71% in favour of Joanne and Laura’s re-appointment. Laura and Joanne will immediately re-commence work to put several working groups in place. Members who filled in the recent skills audit should expect to be contacted in the coming week.

A board meeting is scheduled for Tuesday 23rd May and members will be given a fuller update following this meeting. This will include a timetable for consultation on the Club 1872 constitution.

We thank members for their patience and support throughout the changes of recent weeks. Club 1872 is the UK’s largest member led supporters group and one of RIFC’s largest shareholders. Committed to protecting and supporting Rangers FC, Club 1872 offers a unique opportunity for supporters to contribute to and participate in the well being and success of our Club.
