I think he is a bit of a poacher. A very good finisher and decent and heading. A bit of a patchy record but seems more than qualified to be a backup.

Loan deal for Matěj Vydra is very close according to Sherbrook on FF. I don't know an awful lot about him but I think that is a very good signing.

I’m buzzing for this one. You have to wonder if Wilson has called in a favour or two here because we seem to have jumped a queue. The fans will need to be patient with him but the best thing about him is that he is genuinely different from what we already have. It’s been a long time since we have signed a player who’s style of play is totally different to anyone already on the books. Looks like a set piece specialist and long shot specialist too, lots of qualities we haven’t had much of before. Also don’t underestimate the importance of having a guy like this for the kids to idolise. A bit like Morelos he will have a huge pull for kids in a way that most players won’t.

I still think you are underrating Dykes (and his goals). Most strikers do not have good assists numbers, only the ones who link up very well with the midfield. Livi have only 35 league goals this season to Rangers' 57. Yet Dykes has 6 league assists and Morelos has 3 and Kent has 0. Anyway, looks like Kamberi will be the one signing so I'll need to dig up some positive stats on him instead later today ?

He is more versatile and dynamic, but I think that's maybe a bit harsh on Dykes. Hit hattrick against Ross County was impressive and he's actually fast for someone so tall and can beat a man too. He had an impressive assist at the weekend (I think it was) when he beat a man out wide with a good bit of skill and set the goalscorer up with a good pass.

Kamberi is definitely a very decent option if we can get him. I've only seen glimpses of both but Dykes strikes me as a player who has more potential than Kamberi if I'm honest. If we don't go for him I would expect him to do well in the Championship next season. Jordan Campbell has more or less rubbished the Dykes link for now though and with McNulty and Docherty reportedly going to Hibs it looks very likely Kamberi will join by the end of the day.

Stevie 4LHD saying he thinks Hagi will be the excitement of the window. Have to say I couldn’t see where another quality player was getting into our team at the moment unless you are dropping Kamara.

If true then Kamberi must be happening. Only reason Hibs do business with us these days is if they benefit from it too.

How much have you actually seen of him? He’s scored a lot of good goals this season and had a good solo assist at he weekend.

Andy Devlin reporting we will move for Dykes if Kamberi doesn’t go through. Sounds to me like Rangers are sending a warning message to Hibs that they have other options and if they don’t negotiate reasonably Livingston will.

Kamberi one is interesting. Seems a bit too random to be made up and he’s apparently bought a house in EK. He seems a good option as a number 2/3 to me but I’d be a tad concerned about the fee Hibs would ask for.

At some point in his celebrations it is going to dawn on @Rousseau that this means Windass won't be re-signing for us in this window.

The manager's style was the other possible reason. I had a look and they seem to play a 4-3-3 with 3 centre mids similar to ourselves. It seems that he doesn't have a place for a central attacking midfielder in his team. He is left footed so he would suit the position Aribo currently plays. I think Aribo has played very well there but I wonder if long term he is planning on moving him back to centre mid.

If so that seems like excellent business. Especially in this climate when we would demand £4m for bit part players. I saw an interesting comment on FF pointing out that Genk have a bit of a fire sale going at the moment with 4 players now on the way out for big money. It makes a bit more sense if they are raising loads of cash for something. But on the face of it you'd have said he's only been with them 6 months and has big potential so why would you flog him to the first buyer.

By the way I found a BBC article on him that said this,

If this is a loan to buy then it appears to be outstanding business on the face of it. Something isn't adding up though. He seems to be very highly rated, but if he's so good why are Genk letting him go after signing him 6 months ago for a reported £7m? It's not Man City it's a team who are 6th in the Belgian league (20 points off 1st). If we have an option to buy we must be talking big money. I don't understand this one. But I can't wait to see him in a Rangers shirt.

But my point is that we will be signing a replacement for Morelos when the money is in the bank. Anyone who comes in now will be challenging Defoe next season. We wouldn't risk signing a future replacement for Morelos with our current budget. FWIW, I think Dykes would be worth a punt if Livi were reasonable to negotiate with. I haven't seen loads of him and I could be wrong but he seems to me to be an all rounder with lots of potential. However if that Sherbrook guy's comment is true we won't be going for Dykes because he was mentioned in that thread.

The guys referre's under 13s games. Of course a ref at any level shouldn't be posting this kind of stuff but it's not like he's reffing at anywhere near our level.

I think it would be a loan. Defoe has signed for next summer and imo will remain as our number 2. We won't sign Morelos's replacement until the money is in the bank and what kind of a player could we realistically sign to come and compete with a Morelos replacement and Defoe next season?

I only saw the Rangers TV highlights but sometimes you have a bit of an advantage when you see highlights because you see the players who created the real chances. Kent barely featured at all, he had one run at the defence when he got in a good position but hit it wide. All our chances went through Ojo, Arfield and Defoe if I remember correctly. Delighted that Polster has finally had a chance to show what he can do, I’ve said for a while I think he a very good player and an excellent back up for two positions.

What’s up with Aribo?

I don’t think we have to look past Morelos and Tavernier being missing and Jack having an injury for the 45 he did play. I think too much is being made of the performances in the 3 games we’ve played.

It will be a straight swap with Arfield and Kamara will definitely retain his place alongside Davis. Edmundson would have been more suited to Tynecastle than Ross County at Ibrox.
