Kent? Not a popular view but I still think he’s way overrated. He gets plaudits for his “urgency” and “looking to make things happen” but he just lacks quality where it matters. Yes he’ll take someone on at the half way line and get you off your seat but how often does he create a goal scoring chance? Almost never. His final ball and shooting are both poor. If Murphy had stayed fit I think we’d be in a far better place right now. -

Grezda is very much a winger. Celtic picked up Rogic, Allan and Christie for peanuts. -

Gerrard was very clear that Grezda and Barisic were £1.5m each -

We just don’t recruit number 10s. It’s like Celtic with centre backs. Both sets of fans know what their team needs and bizarrely neither team will do it. -

Absolutely, it’s utterly embarrassing that we rely on a bulldozer up front to create a chance most of the time, and it exposes the lack of creativity from Kent and Candeias that they can’t give Defoe anything to work with! Defoe will get pelters today because he was “anonymous”. He was “anonymous” because our midfield has next to no creativity. -

Interesting that Jack and Arfield don’t make the bench. Seems a risk to throw Davis and Kamara straight in. Both comfortable on the ball though so that must be what he has in mind. -

Lowrie. Creative types like to express themselves in that kind of way. Think valderrama -

Absolutely brilliant, what an achievement. Great advert for the academy winning that and a great way to attract more players like NYC -

The young boy Lowrie is brilliant too, very creative player but has only been getting 10-15 minuts because he's two years younger than the oldest players -

It could encourage them to come out a bit and leave themselves exposed in the second half though -

That was inexplicable. Can't believe he's got himself sent off like that when we were up against 10 men. -

The two of them would certainly bring a fluidity to our front line because they’d switch positions very easily and cause a lot of confusion. -

Couldn’t agree more with this. I’m convinced we won’t fully overtake Celtic until we have really good players coming into the first team from the academy, the way Celtic have done with Tierney and McGregor. Josh McPake is 17 and I think we’ll see him start to make cameos next season but I think he’s our future no 10. -

Everything I hear and see from Mulholland makes me think he’s a huge asset for the club. Moving the academy in a modern direction and earning us respect across the world. -

The whole interview was an advert for the club, you could certainly tell he wasn’t being interviewed by the Scottish press!! -

I know it’s simplisitic but looking at the scores of both sides you wouldn’t say they were definitely ahead of us, our results have been very impressive. -

Josh McPake started ahead of Mebude up front in the recent reserve game and is the same age. He's a number 10 style player but I wonder if he'll make the bench. -

It really sums up our luck that when Morelos is suspended the 5 strikers who are behind him in the pecking order are unable to step up and take advantage; Defoe, Lafferty, Hardie, Rudden, Dallas. -

I wouldn't risk Defoe's hamstring on a home game against St Johnstone. I'd probably go with Arfield up front due to his finishing and link up play. I like Middleton but I think if we go with the high press I'd prefer Arfield to lead the line and be physical with the defence. Kent is an out and out winger, he doesn't have the finishing, passing or heading ability to play as a striker imo. -
MORELOS is Free to face Kilmarnock in next week's Scottish Cup replay

I enjoy the Record Rangers podcast. Scott McDermott was bang on about Morelos's second, I had thought the exact same when I saw it. He said he hadn't seen "that type of finish" from Morelos until now. That finish was the highlight of the game for me because I've mentioned before my concern that Moreos lacks a bit of technique and finesse with his finishing, he seems to go with his laces almost every time. That finish was very exciting because for me it showed he has more potential than I realised and in all honesty more ability than I realised. -

Absolutely brilliant, this is the team who beat Real Madrid 2-0 a few days ago.
