Andy Muirhead (celtic slanted spfl blogger) is going to great lengths to point out the training gear that Rangers are wearing are off the shelf templates.

No doubt bespoke training gear will follow after the kit launch.... what is it with these guys obsessing about everything Rangers.

Genuinely is that the kind of thing 'that lot' are picking up on now? Unless you've got some ridiculous, non-standard, awful design (*cough* green n white hoops *cough*) most kit manufacturers are going to go with really similar designs for each of the teams they do business with.

After seeing the Denmark top the other night (and the Forrest one as well) I think the new Rangers top will be something really similar to those (in blue, obviously) and I don't think that will be a bad thing.

It is mental the kind of daft wee things that 'that lot' will try to spin into a negative story.

I couldn't comment on their general quality but whatever it may be in this instance it's nothing but an opinion piece on facts. Both Goldson and Katic have been signed and there are suggestions from many sources that the Skrtel deal may be back on.

    What's unrealistic about that?

4 Lads Had a Dream retweeted this - I'm more likely to believe 4 Lads than IN.

Aye, but in a piss poor team... wait....

Seriously though, I find it a little concerning that our best player of last season, by a fair distance (Morelos would have been had he remained consistent) would be someone that we are almost willingly removing from the team.  Candeias works hard on both sides of the ball and doesn't deserve to be sidelined.

I totally agree - Candeis was, probably by a country mile, the most consistant player in the team (in a positive way - there were plenty of consistently sh*te players as well).

Joe Dodoo off on load to Blackpool, I'm hearing.  I thought he looked a decent footballer but maybe lacking the mentality required (to play for us).

Is there any other info on this loan deal - is there an option for Blackpool to buy him at the end? It seems strange for us to hang on to the guy and continually fire him out on loan, if we've got no intention of keeping him.

  7. I can get behind this decision; extra cash for the club, it isn't really changing anything that could put the clubs reputation at risk...

...which is why I'd be torn if they decided to rename the stadium as well. I appreciate it'd be another bit of cash to the club, but I can't help feeling that stadiums named after sponsors are a bit ...tacky? Are there genuinely people out there who think 'Well, our team is sponsored by Etihad* - I can't use any other airline*!"

I know we'd all still call it Ibrox, but it'd be like selling your soul or something. Renaming the training ground is meaningless as far as I can tell.

    *change sponsor/product as applicable

swap our only 22yr old prolific striker for some cash (it would have to be hefty) for 33yr old defender, who would probably want a hefty wage to be here`!

Exactly what I was going to say - the sticking point wasn't the transfer fee; it was the wages. If Morelos does go,  better using the cash to buy a couple of decent, younger players, than bowing to Skrtel's wage demands.

Being reported by some others now too. I very much doubt the medical bit is true but hopefully the fee being agreed is. Just this morning we were being mocked by another Celtic blog because they had a senior source at the Croatian club rubbishing it. These bloggers really need to give it a rest and Newsnow needs to stop them showing up in the Rangers feed!

That annoys the hell out of me too. I guess it's just because the word 'Rangers' appears somewhere in the title/article - but it also shows how obsessed that lot can be about us!

I've clicked on a couple of them before and went to blogs that have more articles about Rangers on them, than Celtic - it even had the tagline "Obsessed With Celtic" along the top of the page, without a hint of irony. That would be hilarious, if it wasn't so sad.

I read the article...but I read his words. "Scott Brown would have BULLIED me." The word bully is not about being slight, it's about fear. Yet, not of Scott Brown. It is an admission of inadequacy and self-doubt...big, fat, flappin, red flag. This is why publically admitting weakness should be frowned upon. If I was on his team competing for position and I saw that...yeah. Someone needs to sit this kid down and have a long talk about honesty. There are a million places to talk about 'fears', newspapers ain't it.

We may see Mr. Gilmour again sooner than we think.

I think Gilmour is being polite in this interview. When he says Scott Brown would have 'bullied' him, he actually means 'hacked'.

He's gone to rehab in Tiajuana? Good luck, Carlos. That place is like Easterhouse back in the 90s.

-Very interesting take on things with this lottery system. Is this unique in football?

Man...what a lamentable affair that is. That kid is going to be a beast. Oh well, he will come back here >30 like Rooney did with Everton.

Easy to say with hindsight, but I can't help wondering if Stevie G had been in charge when Gilmour was here - instead of Caixinha - if his presence would've been enough to persuade Billy to stay here.

You read these, take a mental note, and once a half decent media outlet has a similar info, you check whether that note has not fallen to dust by then.

The amount of brain-twisting that goes on with HITC, Transfer Tavern, Football Whispers, This is football et al bounds to extraordinary. Coming up with the most silly headlines on one and the same player ... and going even as far as saying that "Gerrard wants to sign XYZ" and only when you check the article out, you note that it is simply a wild suggestion by the author with no foundation whatsoever. Somesuch should by chased from the net, as it is clear outright lying.

HITC is the worst football site on the net. Clickbaiting of the highest order.

  14. Is it a failing of the youth academy though, or a failing on the 1st team, for not using more younger players? As far as I can tell, the youth teams are performing admirably under Craig Mulholland's watch and producing some genuine talent.

I think it's a bit of a catch-22. We need to blood in some young players, but the 1st team can't afford to take the risk, as the support demands that we win every game. And if the demands on the team are too much, we need to play proven 'talent' to try to win every game. To break through, the player needs to be of an exceptional quality and even if they are, the pressures to give 110% all of the time must be ridiculous.

I think the idea of playing the reserve or B team in the lower leagues/cup matches would have bee a good way of getting the boys experience. But I'm pretty sure that was vetoed.

The line IMO is orange strip ok for the reasons you mention but prominent flag, not so.

Or in other words, colours rather than symbols.

Agree with your last statement there. Its just a colour. If you equate the use of that colour as having another ulterior meaning, doesn't that make you a bigot for thinking that?

Fact is, we'll use Rangers colours - red, white and blue - on the home strip, as expected. As far as I'm concerned, the away/3rd kit are open season and you can use any colour you like. Were black and illuminous yellow considered Celtic colours?

People will see and think what they want to and we should let them. "No one likes us, we don't care", remember?
