Glasgow Rangers to acquire a controlling stake in Charlton Athletic

Recommended Posts

Sounds crazy to be injecting cash to get a club into the Premiership when they are virtually guuaranteed league one football next season.

BUT, i like the sound of this venture and can see the long term benefits for both clubs if it works out.

It doesnt say if we can get some of their players on loan? I like the look of Varney, Soares, Bouazza and Ambrose and think they could do a job for us. .

Imagine if this works. In three years we could get that £24million back plus half of the £30million Charlton will get on gaining Premiership status again PLUS our youth and reserve players will be gaining invaluble Championship then Premeiership football.

I must say, i do like the thought of what it could bring, but i just feel it is money we could have used to straighten out our side.

I would have liked this news AFTER we won the title as it does show great vision and Charltoin have a very good record of promotion and a lot of people forget just how high they were only 3 or 4 years ago.

I'm going to back Murray on this one.

Having read it I have to say the idea and concept are acceptable, especially with the kind of cash flow a Premiership team could inject into the coffers. But Charlton are far from a Premiership club!
