BAN MCGEEDY The DIVER

Recommended Posts

I think it's only fair that the whole world calls McGeedy a cheat, the same way as the whole world were forced to call Eduardo a cheat for exactly the same thing.

I mean it won't be fair to punish one and not punish the other right?

So, McGeedy should be standing right behind Eduardo when the punishments are being delved out ok!

TBH, can't see Smith, the SFA or anyone including the media trying to get further action over this, it's just the way it seems to be. Any misdemeanours are overlooked. The thing thrown at Arshavin being just the latest example.

Used to like Smith but now can't stand the guy. If he doesn't comment about the dive, which it was, no matter what Mowbray says then he loses all credibility with his stance over Eduardo.

There was clearly NO contact on that.

Now all the ones in the S.F.A who sat upon their ivory towers judging Eduardo are going to have to be consistent or have egg all over their faces.

I am going to keep track of this to see who comes out with the biggest two-face from it.:admin:

The football world has gone fucking mad since the Eduardo incident. McGayday wasn't even touched today & was rightly sent off for simulation, but the Eduardo incident was different because there was 'some' contact just as there was when Rooney threw himself over Almunia yesterday & got a penalty literally seconds after Arshavin was taken down at the other end of the pitch with a really bad challenge & nothing was given.

I wonder when this new obsession with simulation will go away. It's going to get very bloody annoying if it carries on like this because nothing will rid the game of it. It's also completely insane to think that UEFA might have started a frenzy whereby every week there's going to be hundreds of players throughout Europe being banned by their own FA's for simulation. What'll be next? Chalking off goals that shouldn't have stood? Awarding goals that should have been allowed because a player is called offside when he wasn't??

I agree, this has opened a huge can of worms, and comments made recently by Arsene Wenger and Andy Gray are spot on. If they make an example of 1 situation then they have to be consistant and do it everywhere.

What irks me is the Man U v Arsenal match that Arshavin didnt get a pen yet Van Persie got booked 2 mins later for the same challenge simply because 1 was inside the box infront of the home fans at Old trafford for the away side and the other was outside the box for the home team and it was easy to decision to give.

The simple solution for diving is a straight red card with a 3 game ban - that will stop any diving, and if the ref's miss it then TV evidence should be used to ban the player.

The charge towards Eduardo is huge because its for 'deceiving the ref i.e. trying to cheat'....But what happens in the reverse situation when a ref doesnt give a blatent pen? Can that club make a complaint and get a charge on the ref for trying to cheat that team? How on earth can you prove these things?
