Personally, I think there's far more chance of a breakaway European League at some point than there is of the British footballing bodies & UEFA agreeing to form some kind of British League structure, which is what would be required for any Scottish teams to ever end up in the EPL imo.

I agree with that. It's bound to be a European set-up when it comes along, perhaps on a "regional" qualifying basis or something, which would perhaps allow Scottish teams to hook up with English teams in some way.

 

If clubs are just allowed to play wherever they like, the big guns will gravitate towards each other. I do think the cluture in British football is not to go too far with this though, which is why I see some sort of half-way house. England especially (despite the rampant commercialism) is very proud and protective of its Association Football, hence the reason why the FA Cup is still a big deal down there.

The breakaway european league will no doubt happen in the future and im sure they will want the big names of The Old Firm included in that

I find it ironic that Celtic are more interested in joining the premiership - isn't that akin to unionism?

 

I doubt that will ever happen without a financial crisis down there. The unconquerable metaphor is turkey's voting for Christmas.

 

I doubt the Atlantic league will ever take off and the more I think about it the less potential earnings I see and I still don't think they can match the riches of the bigger leagues.
