What every new Chairman of Rangers should read

Recommended Posts

I attach page one of David Holmes' Chairman's Report from 1988. This should be required reading for any Chairman of the club as it ecapulates a lot of we as a club are about.

The "Playing for Rangers and what it means" makes great reading and should be taken on board by a few of our current players.

Apologies for the poor quality

That's a totally refreshing report compared to the spin doctored, empty rhetoric version we get these days... In hindsight it's a great shame that the Malborough family decided to sell the club and David Holmes was duly replaced by SDM.

A hint of a better time perhaps, when Rangers directors, managers, players and supporters were more closely bound by common purpose and mutual respect. Unfortunately, that line was broken by Murray, who was driven by more personal ideals and much of it may now be gone forever.

Yes, should be required reading for all in positions of authority at the club.

'Playing for rangers and what it means' and 'Relationships with the media' certainly cast your mind back to 'better' days
