Dundee Utd ticket row rumbles on- RSC Seek Civil Recourse

Recommended Posts

There are a few things on this that it is worth throwing into the pot.

If DUFC were only charging £12 to "recover their costs", what size of crowd were they expecting to come up with such a value? They have admitted that they are amazed that only 300 Rangers tickets have been sold, so therefore they were budgeting for a lot more turning up.

So if they were budgeting for perhaps around 3500 re-paying punters, and priced the match to break even, how can they possibly be in a position now, with such small numbers attending, to be able to give an estimated £23,000 to their chosen charity.

Talking of their chosen charity, I have been informed that the object of the chairty is to give underpriviledged children in Dundee season tickets for Tannadice. I may have lost something here, but surely that means that the charity is paying DUFC for the tickets. If DUFC were just giving the kids the tickets, they wouldn't need the money, would they?

So DUFC giving the profits to charity is actually only giving it back to themselves in a roundabout way. Very charitable.

Now that fan pressure has forced DUFC to admit they were profiteering with the £12 charge, and they have pledged to pay any profits over to charity, it would be sweet now if all 3500 Rangers fans in attendance at Tannadice took out small claims actions against DUFC, and got some compensation back as well, giving DUFC an overall loss on the whole saga.

Thanks for the extra info mate - Utd have come out of this looking very bad and I can't see the Nithsdale being on their Xmas card list any time soon...

Wonder what wee Jim McLean has to say on the matter - he's unusually quiet of late.
