Andy Goram and Ian Ferguson

Recommended Posts

The irony of that is in his book he states he was very proud of his pinpoint kicking ability !!

Aye that is what gets me.

Goram mentions it in his book not just about this incident but also about the bust-up with Keane where he half-volleyed one right onto the toes of one of the younger Manure players only for Keane to run his mouth at Goram that he should always pass to Keane.

Goram is proud of his accuracy at kicking the ball out.

Every goalie we've had bar Klos has been adequate at kick outs.

DiCanio shit it in my opinion. Ferguson was clever enough not to react to his baiting on the pitch, but from what you hear afterwards was all for a square go in the dressing rooms where motormouth had disapeared by this time. Fanny!

I didnt think Goram was that great with kick-outs. I remember for quite a while he diodnt even take bye kicks as his knees were knakered.

Goram was very good at controlling the ball out of the box and always loved to take the ball past the forward rushing in, but as for his kicking from hand or bye kicks, I seem to remember it was poor. His shot-stopping skills and mere presence more than made up for it though.

Of course Klos took "poor" to new levels at kickouts.
