Given the Kenny Miller fiasco, perhaps all this praise for Bain has been premature?

Surely getting Miller on a new contract should have been tied up long before we were worrying about Beattie?

And if Miller was to sign a new contract, it does beg the question why we signed Beattie at all. Was he signed on the assumption that the Jelavic deal was off? Or that Kenny Miller was off? It just seems weird that after 2 years of our only strikers being Boyd, Miller, and Lafferty, we'd now want to replace Boyd with 2 players, not least 2 who are highly unlikely to accept being 'rotated'

Add work permit balls up.

After Mizuno getting a work permit on the say so of Pat Nevin, it would be the biggest conspiracy since Jardel if Jelavic was to be turned down. Just can't see it.

The Herald claims the panel haven't had time to meet yet but will do so tommorow. And that there is a chance it will be turned down (though we'll probably get it on appeal)

I'm confident Jelavic's signature will be confirmed tomorrow.

:nj:

So....has he signed or hasn't he, others are saying his application was turned down and will have to be appealed, surely a simple statement from the club is all that is required, but we won't hold our breath waiting for one.

They meet tommorow. Herald claims he hasn't put pen to paper yet because if he had, and the permit was turned down, we'd be forced to honour his contract even though we couldn't play him
