Rooney signs.......

Recommended Posts

Did anyone else really think it would end any other way?

The bit that gets me is the interviews his colleagues gave, especially Evra. How will they respond to Rooney signing a new deal? They can't be happy.

The more I think about it the more I think it was a big stitch up.

Not surprised, one of my first thoughts was its a stunt to deflect all the press away from his personal issues and now they are all talking about the football side of things. Even Rio Ferdinand stated its no surprise.

He could still have a get out clause and they may have persuaded him to sign so they get a larger fee, but with all the managers coming out in the press saying a move away from Man Utd would almost be downhill may have woke Rooney up.

Bad choice by Fergie he should have taken the 55mill asking price and rubbed his hands. There are better players out their for a less wage as i see it. Rooney is totally overrated.

I agree but Everton are due something like 25% of any sell on fee so if he is on a 5 year deal they would get more.

I wouldnt say Rooney is overrated yet, but I see him like Owen as a player who peaked early and will start to get injuries and go downhill. He will also lose a yard of pace in the coming years which will automaticall set him back.

Fergie should sell him to Madrid then break the bank for Snieder and Torres.
