The bit that gets me is the interviews his colleagues gave, especially Evra. How will they respond to Rooney signing a new deal? They can't be happy. Even Rio Ferdinand stated its no surprise. I agree but Everton are due something like 25% of any sell on fee so if he is on a 5 year deal they would get more. I wouldnt say Rooney is overrated yet, but I see him like Owen as a player who peaked early and will start to get injuries and go downhill. He will also lose a yard of pace in the coming years which will automaticall set him back.
