craig 5,199 Posted November 2, 2010 Share Posted November 2, 2010 Champions league level players can be found cheaply eg Bougherra, Cuellar, Papac, Davis etc. Commons is a 27 year old playing in the championship for a reason But the ones you mentioned are mostly exceptions rather than the norm. Plus, where was Bougherra playing before coming to us ???? You state that as if it is rather simple to pluck someone for next to nothing. Not one of the above players were "CL level" until they came to us. Papac, Davis & Bougherra played for run of the mill teams in mid-EPL - hardly CL level. Cuellar was with a run of the mill Spanish team. And, on top of that, every single one of them (bar Papac) cost upwards of 2 million. In case it has slipped your attention, other than Jelavic we havent made a signing for ANY money for 3 years. So, yes, CL players can be found "cheaply" - but you need to also quantify "cheaply" because even 2 mill is NOT cheap for Rangers these days ! 0 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
