Rangers trio set to return.

From STV.

Sasa Papac, Maurice Edu and Madjid Bougherra could all be fit to take their places in Rangers' team to play Hearts on Saturday. The injured trio have been absent from a number of their teams' big matches, including the Champions League defeat to Manchester United.

Papac and Edu were both taken off in the surprise 3-0 loss to Hibernian at Ibrox on November 10, picking up respective head and knee injuries. Bougherra meanwhile featured in the subsequent 2-0 win over Aberdeen but has since been out with a hamstring strain.

Of the three, Papac looks the most likely to return at the weekend. The Bosnian defender has been suffering headaches ever since his head knock in the game against the Edinburgh club but has trained as normal in recent days.

Bougherra and Edu are also back in light training and Gers boss Walter Smith is optimistic about the chances of all three making a swift return, although he is prepared to wait a week longer for the Algerian defender and American midfielder if necessary.

ââ?¬Å?Sasa has been doing his training but he had been having some headaches,ââ?¬Â Smith told Rangers' official website. ââ?¬Å?We have to be careful with that aspect but I would that these would clear this week.

ââ?¬Å?Madjid is coming along. He will be touch and go for the weekend. Maurice Edu is in a similar situation and if they don't make it this weekend then they should be OK for next week.

ââ?¬Å?Maurice suffered the injury on the knee that was operated on but it is not problematic and we are delighted with that.ââ?¬Â

The return of all three will provide a boost to a decimated Rangers squad. Defender Andy Webster remains on the sidelines, joining striker Nikica Jelavic ââ?¬â?? who is back in light training after an ankle operation ââ?¬â?? and forward Kyle Lafferty, who will be out until January with a broken finger.

Can't believe Lafferty is out for 6 weeks with a broken finger.

Big girl's blouse - strap it up and send him on the field of play. If he complains, break another finger ..... repeat until complaining stops..

I think he will be giving you the middle finger for that remark. Hmmm oh maybe not.
