Supporter Information - Malmo v Rangers

Recommended Posts

Well, the assumption by UEFA and Co. is most likely that those "corporate" guests do not belong to the singing masses who usually attend football matches and cause bother.

Obviously, it should be pointed out that UEFA's jurisdiction begins and ends at the stadium gates. So if Rangers supporters walk through the streets of Malm¶ and sing to their hearts' content - even the "banned" songs - there is nothing in this world to prevent them from their freedom of speech. Bar common sense, of course.

Of course, it is very strange indeed that all sorts of people within Scotland think they have the "freedom of UEFA" when talking about "sectarianism" and "bigotry", or take these rulings into their own hands.

UEFA managed to fine Rangers for something that happened outside the Villareal ground, and I believe that there was no evidence that the act was carried out by a Rangers fan.

UEFA's jurisdiction stretches way past the stadium gates.

Any Rangers fans in Malmo are putting the club at risk, even if they have no intentions of misbehaving in any way. If they innocently get caught up in something, we could face a closed stadium or worse.

It isn't a big stadium so surely most Malmo fans would buy up the tickets unless they don't have the demand.

Well they're on the verge of winning in Europe aganst a team such as Rangers, I think the demand will be well subscribed. I just hope any travelling Rangers fans keep away and content themselves with a few beers and the TV.

All it would take would be one single idiot to start something inside the stadium whilst in amongst the Malmo fans and it could end up in a riot. Don't want to sound like a drama queen, but it's very worrying.
