BF was shouting and swearing at him for not getting forward enough and putting pressure on the Motherwell right back. Smith was trying to tell him Le Guen had told him to sit back and not to get forward as much. The most successful captain in British footballs more recent history would have to be Keane at United, and this kind of thing happened more often than not with him. I was focusing on the "argument" between Smith and Ferguson. Ferguson could knock Smiths confidence by giving him a rollocking in the tunnel, this should have been done in the dressing room.
