Jelavic for the off?

Recommended Posts

Ortiz, Wallace, Aluko, Goian, Bocanegra ... yep, you might have no point. Or do you mean those we acquired as - by common board opinion - as squad players?

Goian & Boca are the only 2 regular starters. Aluko has only been available for something like 3 games (and started 2) - he could/should go the way of Boca/Goian though.

As for Ortiz - def not a regular, and Wallace hasn't been a regular either (Papac being the preferred unless one @ LB, one @ LM). McCoist also seem to favour playing people out of position instead of utilising "Squad" players.....Why play Papac in mid, when you have McKay, Bedoya and some of the youngsters available????

Taking the tax case out of the equation for a while, would you trust Ally to spend that money wisely if Jelavic does go?

What does Whyte do from here? Give him a lump sum to make a couple of signings, or perhaps put a couple of million aside for wages to sign a couple of players like Boyd who we could get for free or for a token fee?

BTW, Jelavic is still clearly a quality player, but he's not getting the service he needs and because he's not a grafter I think he's being singled out unfairly. All strikers go through rough patches and miss chances, but given our thin squad, he's the main man even when in a run of poor form.

To be frank, I seriously doubt that Ally would see a single penny of any money brought in for Jelavic. If he's sold we might not even get all of the money in one single payment and even if we did I think the money would be needed to run the club till the end of the season.
