Broadfoot to Bristol City

Recommended Posts

Not sure what to make of this. Whittaker could be out for 6 weeks or more if he needs a hernia op, so Broadfoot would be playing RB.

Happy enough if he moves on though, since he's clearly an idiot. If he moves on at least McMillan will get a proper chance.

Heard/read this one too. Broadfoot will always be a back up player so if someone comes along and offers him regular football and good wages we'd be churlish to stand in his way. We have Ortiz, McMillan, Cole and possibly Edu who could all play in that position as back up to Whittaker so if we can get some cash for him then.... CHA CHING!

On a sidenote, as I saw him train yesterday, Andrew Little also played right back a few times. McMillan and Cole are the inexperienced youngsters, Ortiz a more experienced replacement.

My cynical self says that Whittaker's injury came at a right time for him, for he's been abyssmal at times as RB and any decent offer (Fulham was supposedly interested) would have seen him go. As it is, we'll be stuck with an underperfroming "top earner" on a long contract at least till the summer ...

Yeh that was also another strange decision from McCoist to offer Whittaker so much money for so long. Probably made him unsaleable.

Disagree. Regardless of his contract situation, Fulham or any other EPL club fancies him then they could easily afford a £3m or so, or whatever we value him at.
