Mervan Celik Signs three-and-a-half year deal

All sounds quite promising but my gripe (you knew there was one) is he's supposedly primarily a left winger. We're not exactly short there!

Taking everything I've seen of him into account in terms of written stuff and videos it looks to me like he's not "primarily" a winger. He can play on either wing and maybe that's what he was until a season or two ago (hence not scoring many goals), but it could be that he's been getting deployed as a striker more regularly recently given the number of goals he scored in Sweden last season with a ratio of better than 1 goal in every 2 games over 26, 27 appearances or something. He's also got an interesting record for the Swedish international U19 & U21 teams in terms of goals to appearances with 3 in 5 for the U21s for example. Little bit of speculation on my part obviously, but his stats for last season certainly look like striker stats as opposed to winger stats and when you watch his goals, he does appear to primarily be playing as a striker.

SSN saying they've signed him. Maybe SSN get their info from Wiki? ;)

The BBC certainly do because their report reads almost word for word with the Wiki entry. lol
