Info on Singaporean bid for club

Recommended Posts

Worldwide brand, recognised as an Elite UEFA team with an Elite Stadium, recent worldwide exposure from the Administration process, Old Firm games - shown worldwide.

I don't think they'd have to look very far to see Rangers.

Wrong. There's a guy from Spore that works in Glasgow gave them a heads up. Rangers are not well known out here

Kenedy to my knowledge was looking to get on board with the knights....Whyte is still the elephant in the room, until the legalities of his ownership are decided,he is pretty much holding our club to ransom and lets face it ,Duff and Phelps have obviously been in cahoots with Whyte since day 1 of this administration!!

Any party with interest in buying a Football club would probably do some looking about. I won't believe for a second that we'd be the first club this person, consortium, whatever they are, have looked at taking over.

Frankie, were you given any indication of thier general wealth other than what you've already stated about them having the cash ready for the purchase and fulfillment of a CVA?

Buyer interest is related to brand of club. They believe this is a bargain purchase to buy into one of the world's most iconic clubs.

That's the ticket there. My only concern is that the point above would suggest they want to make themselves money as part of their long term project?

Is there really money to be made from owning Rangers?

The reason I was so impressed with BK, was that he has made it clear in the past that he isn't in sport to make money. He wanted to make Rangers self-sufficient as well as maintaining the level of success we have had over the past 140 years.

Well, no matter who the new owner, if the club can be re-structured to be running on a self-sufficient basis, then there will obviously be years where a substantial profit is made over and above the normal 'break even' business plan.

To make money then Rangers need to be successful, it goes hand in hand. I've never understood this notion of a Rangers owner not wanting to make money
