Official - Four Parties Made Bids for Rangers.

Adidas or Puma would be the obvious ones but is Mr Bean correct?

Being a Adidas fanatic i'd love them to own us. But would they really see us as a money maker with out taking us into liquidation first?

Er..., I dont know what to say to you about that mate. Is it ok to call a Rangers fan a hun but not a German citizen? Baffled. :frown:

Neither is, and people calling me a "Hun" face to face because I am a German and/or a Bluenose would get him-/herself in trouble ... pending on the circumstance, of course. There's obviously some sort of naughty but IMHO not vile banter between the English and the German football support, as there is with the Scots and the English. But when it comes to the Hooped Horrors, as far as I am concerned, the levels are ... or rather have been raised by them. And of course there is a double standard these days with regards to "Fenian" and "Hun", a standard I for one will not accept.

Mind you, their picture with Ibrox burning and Hun FC being written atop of it should get some serious (legal) attention, and I for one am surprised that it has not already.

The Express says that Club 9 Sports is not part of the Americans bidding for us ...

GERMANS BID FOR GERS

A MYSTERY German-based group entered the race to buy Rangers before last night’s 5pm deadline.

They joined offers on the table from Paul Murray’s Blue Knights and consortiums from Singapore and America.

The fresh US bid is not linked to Chicago-based Club 9 Sports who had previously been linked with the club.

All four parties have put their best offers forward and the administrators, Duff and Phelps, will now decide who will be awarded preferred bidder status.

That decision won’t be made until early next week.

Joint administrator David Whitehouse said: “We received four bids by close of business.

“The bids are structured in various ways but I would describe them as positive and constructive.

“The administration team will now analyse these bids over the forthcoming days and hold discussions with relevant parties to gain further understanding of the details of their bids.

“It will be our intention to accept an offer next week and this will be followed by a period of due diligence and exclusivity.

“At this stage, we can’t be precise in timescale but estimate that an exit from administration before the end of the season is achievable.

“We appreciate the need to conclude this process as quickly as possible.

“It is, however, most important to secure the best possible outcome for creditors, Rangers Football Club and its supporters.”

It’s understood the US and Blue Knights’ bids look the most favourable, with the German offer lagging at the bottom of the pile.

The Blue Knights’ move is being fronted by former director Paul Murray and also includes Ticketus.

Their preferred route to save the club is to go for a company voluntary agreement to move the club out of administration.

Murray said: “We are determined to try and save the club in its current form.

“We strongly believe that there is value to be gained from the financial and football benefits that a CVA can deliver that would be immediately lost if the club went into liquidation.

“We are confident in the strength of our bid and the consortium’s unique ability to rapidly return financial stability to the club with the support of Ticketus.

“As a Rangers fan first and foremost, I want to bring a swift end to the current uncertainties that are clouding the club. Our bid can deliver this.”

Sale Sharks owner Brian Kennedy has already had an offer thrown out, but he could return to the table.

He said: “I would only return as a fallback in the event of the Blue Knights being rejected and a preferred bidder decided he wanted to go down the route of a new company bid.

“I would not be getting involved with any other consortiums.”

I always like the "it is understood" bits.

I always like the "it is understood" bits.

There's a chap over on FF suggesting adidas could be the German bidder.

He says he works for adidas in Germany and there were over 2800 emails sent and received last month to the domain @duffandphelps.com.

Wikipedia knows about Sponsorships ...

Adidas is very active at sponsoring top football clubs such as R.S.C. Anderlecht, Wisła Kraków, Rapid Vienna, Real Madrid, Aberdeen F.C., AC Milan, Dynamo Kyiv, Metalist, Partizan Belgrade, Chelsea, Palmeiras, Fluminense, Bayern Munich, Rosenborg BK, West Bromwich Albion, Stoke City F.C., Lyon, Marseille, AFC Ajax, Schalke 04, Galatasaray, Benfica, River Plate, Los Angeles Galaxy, New York Red Bulls, Beşiktaş, Fenerbahçe, Gaziantepspor, UANL Tigres, Panathinaikos, South Melbourne FC, IFK Göteborg, Zamalek SC, Al-Ahly, Al-Hilal, Ahli Jeddah, Ahly Benghazi, Madina Tripoli, Tahaddy Benghazi, Caracas FC, Universidad de Chile, Los Millonarios, Beitar Jerusalem F.C., Albirex Niigata, Atlético Nacional, C.D. Guadalajara and Liverpool

Owning any of them ... not exactly their business. I think it may cause problems when they own this or that club and it happens that they play against one another in e.g. the CL.
