Scottish Cup 2nd Round: Forres v Rangers

Recommended Posts

Yep. But only to 1200 of them. You think there would be more of them showing up if the match was to be played at a bigger stadium? Just wondering how many supporters these guys would pull since this is likely a memorable match for them.

But to counter that you would be very surprised if they ever had a sell-out crowd at league games. Therefore the club is saying thank you to those who have been loyal to the club and putting money in the bank for them.

Personally I see no harm in that. Why should he be loyal to the ones who dont bother to attend ?

Fair point mate. Guess it just would have been so common for Forres to make the move to a bigger ground and grab all the money they possibly can out of a match against a big club like Rangers that it didn't occur to me they actually want to play at home for the sake of their supporters.

he's ( the forres owner ) is probably expecting a draw and replay at ibrox

It's high time they scrapped the Scottish Cup replays and switched to extra time and penalties. Replays allowing clubs to play for a draw is unfair on fans and at times it can almost be like match fixing.

MANAGER Charlie Brown admits his club could have done with a trip to Ibrox for the money but is looking forward to welcoming his beloved Gers to Mosset Park.

Replays are as big part of the cup romance.

You could say the same about extra time and penalties.

There's actually so many replays in the Scottish Cup that if the SFA aren't willing to change the format to extra time and penalties it would make more sense to just have two leg (home & away) ties with aggregate scores deciding the winners in the early rounds then switch to a knockout format with extra time and penalties for the last 8 or something. Just an opinion though! :)
