Lack of signings yesterday

Recommended Posts

With that squad, barring horrendous injuries, we should be fine.

If we played a 3-5-2 we have, effectively, 7 players to fill the defence the RB's, LB's and CB's can all play as part of a back 3). We then have more than enough midfielders to cover the 5 - Templeton and Little (or McKay) wide and 3 CM's will be easy enough filled with Black and, I assume, Shiels taking 2 of the 3 spots and then you have any one from the rest I would play Hutton but he seems to be out of favour, but you still have MacLeod there who is good enough at this level).

As for the 2 up top, plenty of options.

Even if we go 4 at the back we have enough options - our issue is going to be covering injuries and suspensions.

And we will also be able to sign freebies after the window closes next season. Hopefully the club will be well aware that they can have signings lined up but just cant sell them. We also wil have Goian and Bocanegra potentially coming back, though that would be unlikely but still a possibility.

goian and bocanegra will be pushing on a bit i think we have to find replacements for these two and also a good right back

We now have a squad of 25

Goalkeepers : Neil Alexander, Scott Gallagher (2)

Right Backs : Anestis Argyriou, Darren Cole (2)

Left Backs : Lee Wallace (1)

Centre Backs : Emilson Cribari, Sebastien Faure, Ross Perry, Chris Hegarty (4)

Wingers : Barrie McKay, Andrew Mitchell, David Templeton (3)

Centre Mids : Lee McCulloch, Kyle Hutton, Ian Black, Lewis Macleod, Robbie Crawford, Kamil Wiktorski (6)

Attacking Mids : Dean Shiels, Francesco Stella (still to be confirmed) (2)

Strikers : Andy Little, Francisco Sandaza, Kevin Kyle, Kane Hemmings, Kal Naismith (5)

Should be more than good enough for the 3rd division plus cup runs .

Also please note everyone , we are free to sign players out of contract as of 1st september next year and not as reported the 1st of Jan 2014 , yet more bad reporting by the press , its only players under contract that we wont be able to register .

2 ch to play rb and 1 lb. worrying given how we looked last week with no fb.

in my opinion we needed another couple of midfielders & another central defender. Time will tell but I don't think we've enough depth to this squad to last til Jan2014 although as I understand things we can sign free agents after Sept1 2013.

Templeton should be a good signing but did we really need another forward ?

we needed a couple of defenders, a centre mid, 2 wingers and another striker. we got a winger.

Definitely what I thought about a central defender. Boca may not have been the best of these, but he was consistent, experienced and balanced as far as I'm concerned. This would be the time to bring Faure in, interesting to see if he can fill that spot with missing plenty of last year through injury. Still a young lad after all.
