Ibrox owner Charles Green has stunned Scottish football by agreeing to provide facilities for the Serie A side ahead of the first leg at Parkhead. Green met with leading Juve chiefs at the European Clubs Association conference in Qatar last week. And he offered to let Antonio Conte prepare his side for the crunch Euro tie at Gersâ?? training complex, with sessions on Monday and Tuesday. This is not the first time Gers have helped Celticâ??s Euro rivals. In 2002 former Ibrox manager Graeme Souness took his Blackburn Rovers side to Murray Park before a UEFA Cup defeat at Parkhead. But that was seen as a favour for the man who rejuvenated Gers in the 1980s and had always retained close links with then club owner Sir David Murray. This latest staggering decision to help foreign opposition is totally unprecedented in Scottish footballâ??s long Euro history. Gers chief Green hinted towards the arrangement with the Italian club during a Q&A session with supporters in Australia this week. And the Ibrox club last night confirmed Juve would be granted full use of Murray Park for their Euro build-up. However Juve chiefs insisted they had NOT yet decided where to base their training. A Juve spokesman said: â??We have not decided the location of our training sessions in Glasgow yet. â??Some options have been considered from the technical staff, but nothing is confirmed.â? Prior to Greenâ??s meeting with Juve chiefs in Doha, the Ibrox club had no links with the Italians at all. They last played against each other in the 1995/96 Champions League group stages with Gers being thrashed 4-1 and 4-0. The club's releasing an article making out as if it's happening and the Juve spokesman is saying it hasn't been decided or confirmed. Not sure if the Sun article is right about it being unprecedented either. Maybe this reporter kindly forgot the - sporting integrity-inspired - help Scum FC offered to Zenit St. Petersburg by forcing Rangers to play three or four games in quick succession before a European Cup Final? NB: And if they would have a hotel near Broadwood Stadium, would this mean that if Clyde offers them a place to train, they would be hounded about too?
