Coisty set to net Bell

Recommended Posts

All people signing up for the newco were "great" - probably not on the park, but off it. Might have made that more clear.

As for one goalie. You know what happens. While it may work fine, with our luck (just look at our strikers) that experienced goalie gets injured and we are left with a rookie. While me may have the best rookies in place there, who knows whether they can actually handle the pressure in front of 45k demanding people every two weeks. Even experienced campaigners have failed there (and often). Or, as McKay put it, ...

You would be able to get another goalie in on emergency loan or get an out of contract goalie. Its not ideal, but at the moment Alexander is costing us 15k p/w and say Bell conservatively on 5k p/w so that's 1mil + bonuses etc to play between the sticks in div 2 and 1 (or div 3 again if the SFA have their way) is just way OTT. As i say when we are back in Europe or even the SPL yes you need 2 decent goalies but until then it is just overkill.

In fairness to Alexander he probably looks worse than he really is at the moment because are centre backs leave him exposed too much but his wages alone for me says he needs to go at the end of the season...regardless of how good or bad he has been.

Bell would be a decent addition but it's at CB & MF creativity where we're well short at the moment.

Alexander is out of contract at the end of the season so i would probably say goalie and CB are priorities, Mid and Attack wise are still way above what is required for div 2.

I would be stunned if Bell was on more than 2k personally.

In MF we've got McLeod, Black, Crawford & Hutton. That's it. Two youngsters, one slightly older and only one with any real experience who's been a bit disappointing some would say

Kilmarnock goalkeeper Cammy Bell insists he has not yet agreed a pre-contract switch to Rangers.

Reports this week suggested the Rugby Park number one was close to penning a deal with the Ibrox club that would see him join Ally McCoist's side after their transfer embargo ends on September 1.

Bell admits his agent has held discussions with the Irn-Bru Third Division side but was adamant that he has yet to put pen to paper.

And the Scotland keeper admits there is still a chance he could stay with Killie in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League or even join another as-yet-unnamed suitor.

The 26-year-old told said: "There has been discussions but I haven't signed anything with anyone yet.

"My only focus right now is to be with Kilmarnock until the end of the season and do my best for them.

"I'm still in talks with Kilmarnock too and, while I know there's been a lot in the press about it, nothing has been done.

"My agent has spoken to a number of different clubs. It's not just one club.

"He's been talking to Kilmarnock for the last two or three months, and there's been three or four other clubs who have contacted him to ask about my situation.

"I feel it's only right that as a player I look at all avenues but nothing has been agreed yet.

"I'm injured at the minute and that is what I'm concentrating on."

A hip injury means Bell will miss Kilmarnock's trip to Inverness on Wednesday alongside injured team-mates Rory McKeown and Cillian Sheridan.
