STEWART REGAN has revealed the SFA have reserved the right to investigate Rangers AFTER the Pinsent Masons report is delivered.

The Ibrox board have commissioned an independent probe into Craig Whyteâ??s links with Charles Green and Imran Ahmad.

The verdict is expected within weeks â?? but Regan has revealed heâ??ll study the answers given by Green before deciding if Gers should face any punishment as a club.

The SFA chief said: â??There are some very specific questions we have asked that require some very specific answers. If we donâ??t get those answers, we reserve the right to further investigation.

â??The nature of the questions we have asked relate to the links between Green, Ahmad and Whyte, the details surrounding money lodged in Ahmadâ??s motherâ??s bank account and various conversations that allegedly took place.

â??We should get some specific answers on those.

â??We have seen the scope of the Pinsent Masons report, it is very detailed and thorough. We expect to see quite a lot of detail when it comes back.â?

Regan insists he feels for Rangers supporters over the ongoing situation at the club.

He added: â??Weâ??ll manage Rangers as we manage all our clubs.

â??Obviously, all the uncertainty and kind of turmoil that is going on at the club is a cause of concern. You have to feel for the fans, given what theyâ??ve had to endure for the last 18 months or so.

â??They thought they had a new dawn with Messrs Green and Ahmad coming in and it has turned sour on them again.

â??Weâ??re all hoping the board can get it sorted out and get them back on an even keel again.â?

Regan hopes the situation at Rangers and Hearts improves soon for the sake of Scottish football.

He added: â??Itâ??s been a hugely challenging year for the game and for the Scottish FA.The Rangers situation has dragged on for over a year and it still needs to be resolved.

â??Itâ??s been really tough. It does take a lot out of you because youâ??re not talking about problems you can make a simple decision on.

â??Weâ??ve had hours of meetings, reports and investigations and legal challenges.

â??Youâ??ve got to absorb hugely complex issues and you just get your head round one when another hits you.â?

Not sure how much this is media spin and how much it's sabre rattling by Regan. It's very clear that the media have found out that dirty little secrets about Rangers sell more copy than writing about the transfer market or football. That's a worrying trend given that Regan would appear to get his information from the newspapers.

This might however end up being the straw that breaks the camel's back. Not ours may I add. Given the complicated changes in ownership structures/admin last year, any charges that the SFA level at us would have to be carefully thought out. It's not simple.

Also if the investigation exonerates us I would expect nothing less than Regan making a major press statement to that effect.

Out of fairness, no matter what, I think we should take them all to the cleaners when it's indisputable that we were victims of criminal fraud.

Yeah the headline is a bit dramatic mate.

Regan appears to be saying the right things as far as it goes......

Regan insists he feels for Rangers supporters over the ongoing situation at the club.

He added: “We’ll manage Rangers as we manage all our clubs.

“Obviously, all the uncertainty and kind of turmoil that is going on at the club is a cause of concern. You have to feel for the fans, given what they’ve had to endure for the last 18 months or so.

“They thought they had a new dawn with Messrs Green and Ahmad coming in and it has turned sour on them again.

“We’re all hoping the board can get it sorted out and get them back on an even keel again.”

It's not in the best interests to the game up here to hammer the club again for the actions of shady businessmen

I would not trust Regan for one second. This man is no friend of Rangers. This is the man who walked out on the Rangers fans at a Q&A, then expects us to believe that he "feels " for us. This first words out of his mouth in that newspaper report is an indication that he wants to punish the club. Green admitted that back in May/June of last year he was talking to Whyte in an attempt to get his shares for 2 pounds. As soon as the CVA collapsed and the club was forced into liquidation he either bought with or transferred the club to Sevco Scotland, hence severing any connection with Whyte. So he told a few whoppers to Whyte, who do you know in this life that is not two-faced to a degree? That was between individuals, nothing to do with Rangers. What does Regan hope to establish so that he can punish Rangers? Regan is playing nice to Rangers right now because he wants that report, but he will turn in an instant and burn us with it if he can. The last time he listened to McKenzie at Harper McLeod it cost him 500,000 pounds, he can't afford to go that route again. John Gow is right, give him nothing that he can use against us. This is a report commissioned by the Rangers board for internal use. It should stay that way. The only thing the SFA and their ilk recognize is strength, the board should show some and refuse to release the findings. We have no need to hasten any move that will weaken us from an external force.

Regan is just trying to keep the heat of his own back regarding the finances involved in the proposed reconstruction. He is aware just how fragile his and his friends over at the SPL are due to their own underhand actions. They have an immediate threat of a total melt down if Hearts go bust without ant assets. Don't forget the SFA and players union were hell bent on stopping Rangers getting any fees for players who wanted to break their contracts and even when they did they seem to have stolen the cash. Basically it the old divert and buy some time trick used by most fraudsters.
