The VB have been actively trying to pursue who could be involved in the HMRC leaks etc. They had listed all sorts of potential suspects in various 'cases' including the two deceased. Crossing them off is no different to what a police investigation would do (ironically) when a deceased person was no longer a suspect. Granted no tears were shed by VB in doing so.
