People live in a world of dreams if they think that youngsters and people on 1.5k a week (if you'd found them) would have returned us from the fourth tier to where we are and beyond. But I reckon they'll fling in more hypothetical stuff like "good management and coaching and scouting would have done that trick ... just look at *name a team of your fancy which at this moment and time is run decently enough*". Yep, in theory all fine and well.

There is no beyond, we have failed in every cup competition. It is only from the fourth to Premier and even at £1.5k a week, it is still 10 times what part timers in the bottom few leagues get and still more than most players playing in the SPL get too.

All but one team each "has failed" in each of the cup competitions since admin. And if you look, you'll find that not many of those cups won was decorated with the colours of a team with the best team or best youth work or best coaching. For after all, we look at a sport called football. You've got a good headstart in this game of chance if you all the aforementioned at your disposal. That it is by no means a certainty to win anything has been proven time and again. Just look at last season with open eyes ... and leave the Rangers universe for a moment or two.

Nonsense, getting to the latter stages of any cup competition is seen as a success for 99% of Scotlands clubs. Not winning them is only a failure to 2.

Whilst your devils advocate ramblings may be vaguely correct to an extent in general, you will find that the real clubs who do have success and long term success actually have all the things Rangers fans crave including a good footballing infrastructure and good manager at the time of their success.

Under McCoist we will taste no success, only failure and mediocrity.
