As I'm sure you appreciate your wife will always be correct, particularly if she ensures that if they are food items they will be consumed before going out of date. In addition you have to consider inflation because you will lose little value in interest on the expenditure and the items may well go up in price before she buys them again. Take care with items like wine, however, where there is a balance between maturity and vinegar, as I know to my cost. Rather than the clubs best interests. It might work in the clubs favour if the club take the onerous contracts to law?
