Gordon Strachan says Lee Wallace is still in with Scotland shout

GORDON STRACHAN told Rangers skipper Lee Wallace last night that he has a future with Scotland — and he’ll have no problem calling him up.

 

Wallace told Sunsport yesterday that being out of the national picture to skipper Gers was a price worth paying.

 

But Strachan insisted: “We know what Lee can do.

 

“There’s a group of lads out there we know are willing and able and who you can trust, and Lee’s one of them. It would be remiss of me though not to have a look at a young talent, someone ten years younger. Everybody understands that.

 

“If Kieran Tierney didn’t make it then we would have no problem in knocking on Lee’s door and he would go right in there, absolutely.

 

“I’m not saying he’s a world-class player but we know what he can do.”

 

Wallace isn’t in the frame for Tuesday’s visit of Denmark.

Of course he will call him up; I don't know what you expect Strachan to say. But left back is our strongest position right now: Robertson, Tierney, Douglas from the Turkish league, to name but 3. I predict next season Holt and McKay will become regulars.

Would be okay for the guys but I personally don't care as Scotland no longer excites me,this is from a once fierce supporter of our national team.

Seems like a kick in the teeth - when you are the Rangers captain and in the form of your life you should be in the Scotland squad.

 

You should not be back up to an 18 year old who has only played a handful of games.

 

I hope our wingers rip Tierney apart next month.

Does that not totally sum up the bawbag that is Strapon ? The young mank plays a few good games and watzes into the Scotland squad. Wallace not only plays out of his skin but holds a fledgling team together with very little fuss and is ignored. I am no Wallace lover but he should've been first on that teamsheet.
