Forrester Misses Cup Semi

Take your point Pete and you are absolutely correct regarding the way the game is being portrayed in certain quarters. My point was mainly about players going unpunished, I am acutely aware that they have a superior physical threat than we do and Broooooooon will be more than happy to stick the boot in. My point was that if plod Scotland brief the teams, which they have, to behave themselves on the field of play(just ridiculous in itself, but there you are) then they would have to brief the refs also, everyone will have to be in the loop. So I was only suggesting that there will be more leniency towards industrial tackling by the officials, not condoning it, just my opinion as to what I think may happen due to the overzealous stance the police have. Just that if you brief the players to behave, you would have to brief Thomson and his assistants to try and not "be noticed" so to speak.

Its a sorry situation anyway that the police are briefing players and getting involved in football.

Why would they brief the ref ? the refs job is to keep thing calm and he isn't emotionally invested in the game the way the players are. I cant believe that any ref would get pressured by the Police about doing the job he is supposed to do. The officials job is ALWAYS not to be noticed. A good official is one who you cant remember after the game is done

We will go out and do what we have been doing all season and that includes putting up with dodgy refereeing as it has been for the last four years,I don't expect anything different in that area.

Maybe when we finally get back into Europe we will see some real referees.
