Michael McGovern happy to wait on Rangers interest...

...as Northern Ireland No 1 targets move to England after Euro 2016

Michael McGovern is out of contract with Hamilton in the summer

The Northern Ireland keeper has been linked with a move to Rangers

But McGovern says he doesn't want to think about future just yet

Rangers target Michael McGovern is prepared to head to the Euros as a free agent – and hasn't given up hope of a big-money move to England.

The Northern Ireland and Hamilton goalkeeper, a former Celtic youth player, is believed to feature high on the wish list of Ibrox boss Mark Warburton.

But McGovern, who said he isn't even fielding offers until his contract expires at the end of the season, admits that he's in no rush to commit himself anywhere.

'Not particularly,' said the 31-year-old, the established No 1 for his country. 'I suppose it might be nicer to have things sorted before then - but I'm comfortable going there and hopefully playing in the team, going and enjoying the experience.

'I haven't thought too much about it. I just took a stance that I was going to wait until the end of the season.

'Going to England is something I've always fancied. But the opportunities need to come up and I need to weigh it up.'

Asked about the Rangers interest, McGovern said: 'I just read what's in the papers and I've told my agent we'll just sit down and discuss it at the end of the season.

'My phone's been quiet. I've not wanted him to bother me. I just want to concentrate on my football because it's important for me between now and the end of the season to play well to get my place in the Euros.

'It (the interest) must mean you're doing something well but I don't pay too much attention to it.'

On a free, he'd seem like an affordable option for replacing Bell if, as expected, he leaves.

Would really depend on our supposed interest in Dan Bentley, as I think he would be our first choice keeper (if he were to sign) and Foderingham the back up. Kelly will probably spend another year on loan.

Surprised some not convinced by Foderingham. I think he's been one of the major successes this season

Given the way we play Foderingham's skill with the ball at his feet is a real bonus to have and, generally, his performances outwith that have been good as well.

However, he is prone to an error and sometimes I find his technique less than impressive. It's easy to forget though he's only 25 with his best years ahead of him.
