Chris Burke signs for Ross County until end of the season

THE former Rangers winger returns to Scotland’s top flight for the first time since leaving Ibrox in 2009.

ROSS COUNTY have landed former Rangers winger Chris Burke on a deal until the end of the season.

The free agent had been training with Kilmarnock in the summer with a view to winning a deal.

But Rugby Park boss Gary Locke admitted they couldn’t match the offers from elsewhere.

Motherwell were also looking at the 32-year-old but Premiership rivals Ross County have won the race to sign the player whose last club was on loan at Rotherham from Nottingham Forest.

Burke returns to the Scottish top flight for the first time since leaving Rangers in 2009 for a move to Cardiff.
