Sam can go enjoy the summer, perhaps go dancing in Ibiza and then come back in late October.

You can picture him in the airport lounge, lobster red, wearing a wide-brimmed sombrero, scanning the backpage to have a look see who is near the bottom of the league.

Interesting how the pragmatists get brought in to save clubs from relegation and then when they deliver they just get replaced with more Guardiola wannabes

It keeps the circus going round.

He's done a job, but I can understand why they've got rid. He plays woeful football, they haven't been great under him and they need someone better to take them forward. Whilst he did finish 8th, one look at the teams below him shows this isn't that great an achievement. EPL - the most overrated league in the world.

Some of the criticism of Allardyce is very unfair. He has an excellent track record of immediately drastically improving the defensive performance of his sides.  The only manager in about 2 decades to come away from managing Sunderland with an improved reputation. Why is defensive performance so undervalued these days?

Do I think his style is right for Rangers? No. But he is a quality manager who has proven his ability time and time again and will not struggle to find another EPL job if he wants one.

He won't struggle to find a job for another mediocre, struggling EPL side. And quite right too - as far as the merry go round of wildly mediocre EPL managers go, Big Sam is probably the best.
