Scotland U21 v England U21 Semi Final Toulon Tournament

Recommended Posts

Togo seem to have been the surprise team of the tournament and they lead the group on goals scored (3) ahead of Scotland (2).

Scotland need to win today to have a chance of qualification. If we win and Togo don't or we win by more goals than Togo were to win, we'll qualify.

If you think that is getting value out of goals scored, group C has the tournaments lowest scorers, Canada on TOP, having scored 1 goal that gives them 4 points.

What the hell is a Scotland keeper wearing green and white for. They will have a green second strip strip next. Probably better than pink right enough.

The Celtic goalie playing today is wearing an Orange strip! 2-0 just now for Scotland, Gilmour & Burke scorers

A what I thought was an unlikely 5 goal win would I think put us through no matter what Togo did, ie. best runner-up spot would be assured.

As it stands Togo would need to beat France by 2 goals to knock us off top spot.

Terrible mistake from the keeper to let one in! the South Koreans are far better technically than the Scottish players! but then that has always been the same since I started watching football

How did Middleton get on ?

Simple equation regards qualification.......Togo win, they go through and we don't. Togo don't win, we go through.

RANGERS goalkeeper Robby McCrorie  is set to to move on loan to Championship side Ayr United.

The 20-year-old joined Berwick Rangers a year ago on a temporary basis and he went on to make 41 appearances with the Shielfield Park side.

McCrorie’s excellent form with the Wee Gers was recognised as he scooped FIVE gongs at the club’s Player of the Year awards.

He could now spend next season with League One winners Ayr after Gers brought in Allan McGregor.

Ayr boss Ian McCall is keen to add to his options following the Honest Men’s promotion with Jack Ruddy’s return to Wolves after a loan stint leaving only Jordan Hart between the sticks.

A number of other clubs had contacted Rangers about bring McCrorie on board however they have been told that they are behind McCall’s side in the queue.

It's a competitive league and Ayr aren't one of the stronger teams in it so he will be kept busy.  Good for his development.

He set up the first goal for Gilmour, and had another chance in the second half which he was unlucky with but missed then was subbed, as I said the whole team looked poor, could hardly string two passes together! Korea were far better but have the Scotland keeper to thank for their goal, terrible from him!.

Where is all this great young talent coming through?

Two cracking goals though from Gilmour & Burke
