Whistlers have come under fire this season after a series of high-profile incidents during games. While the SFA's own disciplinary process has also been criticised, with Rangers' Stewart Robertson accusing it of "re-refereeing games". But now ST Pats are calling for referees from other countries - including England, Wales and Ireland - to be drafted in. Premiership clubs have reportedly been given a mandate to draw up a list of demands for next season following a meeting with SFA chiefs yesterday. And the Hoops are apparently keen to play a major role in coming up with the proposals. Parkhead boss Brendan Rodgers has already been critical of the standards of refereeing in Scottish football this season. The Northern Irishman has previously called for our officials to go full-time in an effort to improve. And earlier this month, he urged the SFA to bring in extra referees from outside Scotland. As long as they are full-time professionals, they might actually know the rules & foreign based refs are less likely to be influenced by Scottish media (ie to book or send off Morelos in every game).
