Empty stadiums have shrunk football teams’ home advantage

Good for us away and probably good for some of our players at home

Two claims:

1. Referees don't favour the home team in an empty stadium.

2. Rangers players play better when Rangers supporters are absent.

Which one is supported by data?

I didn’t make either of those claims

I don't think it will make much difference.  British crowds are subdued and about as intimidating as a field mouse (with some exceptions).

True but Pittodrie last season did play a part. They weren’t intimidating in the least but the cheers when passes went astray and boos clearly played a part on Jack, you could see him suddenly making very uncharacteristic mistakes and soon they were back in the game.

I'm not sure what your point is.

Anyways.

The data suggests that we will see something interesting happen in Scottish football while crowds are absent.  I hope that someone is gathering data on the decisions that the referees make.
