Roofe injured again? Where does Fashion play? Is it a 4-4-2?

4-3-3, with Sakala and Kent on the wings.

(Sakala is a technically wide player, he's not a striker - it's just that we've played him there.)

One significant change under GVB has been the ability to get the first goal in all his games, unlike SG last cluster of matches. I've said on here before. We turn up. We win. We are the bloody champions. Simple.

I agree, but... 'If'.

I'VE GOT THE FEAR!

Both usually play on the left so it will be interesting to see who shifts?

Ah--I see what you meant, now.

If I recall correctly, Kent has swapped wings with Hagi mid-game quite often, so maybe the same?

GvB does like the 4-4-2 in defence, when we've not got the ball. That would leave Arfield (solid, dependable, workmanlike player) wide, with Sakala and Morleos up front.

But that's situational, not the game plan, per se -- Man City drop into a 4-4-2 in defence, but you wouldn't say they're set up in a 4-4-2.

These mid-game chances are quite interesting, from GvB. SG was, I maintain, quite flexible in his formations, but certainly not mid-game; it was always a set way of playing for the whole match, unless there was a need (losing a player, or the set-up not working).
