here is a question could VAR have stopped Sands being sent off with it being a second yellow? 

 

I hope so with it also being a red.

We made a specific bit of history (comeback from 2 goals) and contributed to what has been mostly, a quite amazing few years in Europe.

 

Very glad to say the humble pie went down very nicely, just didn't see that coming.

Got some breaks but to a degree, you have to make your own luck.

 

Huge result in terms of prestige, momentum and finance.

Such a comeback will be noted throughout Europe and help consolidate general reputation.

Very big for GVB's credibility rating and for the team to grow into the season, (and avoided recrimination fallout).

An approximate 6 million sterling added to turnover (worst case scenario)

 

So far we have pretty much stumbled through the season without any meaningful damage inflicted.

Hurdles get higher next week (PSV, Hibs(A), PSV) and we will need to up our levels but even if PSV were to put us out (JuJu points) it'll be a softer landing, on various levels.

 

 

Last night was our first win in CL football since Steven Naismith scored from a Kirk Broadfoot cross, in a 1-0 win over Bursaspor, 13 years ago......and only our 2nd win in 24 CL matches.
