My bad...part time.

But my main point still stands...people pissin and moanin about what a ref does really comes off as...it all evens out.

As we can clearly see by this past week.

Sands should have been walkin...he was given a pass.

I more or less agree with you that you generally win some and you lose some.

Regards officialdom, Football fans often tend to see what they want to see and ignore the rest.

But the bit about simply paying more to get better quality didn't work out that way when tried. Full time refs may improve performance but I wouldn't bet on it.

You need to train up the next batch to a better standard.

So you think higher wages, permanent, full time positions would not attract better quality talent?

Do you?

Reeree?

Let's take the risk...we are with VAR correct?

Why half ass things?

Remember...VAR is only as good as the guys talking things through.

Higher wages didn't work.

I said a change to full time might help but 'better' training for new batches is obviously needed.

Scottish football is generally a low quality environment and the current batch of officials are no different.

VAR in Scotland, will I think suffer a similar relative fate.

No, I am not a referee.

If refereeing was was upgraded to full time employment, you would have more competition for the job and able to attract better officials. Moreover, you'd have candidates applying from outside of Scotland which would help to eliminate unconscious bias (if you believe in that).
