I've not heard much, from what I recall. I think it would be an act of extreme negligence and incompetence if they didn't - even if it's not the type of appointment I'd want. That's enough reason on its own to sack him. A good DoF is essential to prevent the sort of colossal recruitment failure we've just witnessed.
