The bulk of his career was spent at Oxford, Northampton and Sheff Utd and he got all three of those teams promoted - Utd twice. 4 in 9 seasons. He had a howler at Watford aye, which manager doesn't? I ignored his record in the Conference, League Two and league One because it's irrelevant (in terms of level and it was around 10 years ago). His final season at Sheffield Utd was a shit-show. His season at Middlesborough was a shit-show. His season at Watford was a shit-show. Imagine getting back to back promotions with Sheffield Utd (4 years ago), winning LMA manager of the year ahead of Klopp and Guardiola for someone to come to the conclusion that his final season with Sheff Utd is a shit show. He had also fallen out with the club's hierarchy and some of the players, IIRC? Sure the same happened when Gio got sacked and MB came in.
