Who should be the new manager?

Tactically, we have no idea how Ancelotti will set up, so that statement is rather unfounded.

We know exactly what tactics Martin employs, as will every other manager in the division.

I know, but I wanted to use your full quote. :D

To be fair, that's my main issue with Ancelotti. I don't know how we'll play, or even if he can implement a style of play.

He does have some interesting ideas around the structure of the coaching staff, etc.

I wouldn't be disappointed, but the unknown is a concern of mine.

I mean, everyone knows what Ange and Rodgers do, too...

.....and in the Europa, and in the Conference, and all in the one season. A record, in fact.

Perhaps one that Russell Martin could aspire to equalling.

If the new owners employ Ancelotti any excitement and positivity from Friday instantly disappears. Gerrard Mk11 is not what we need.

Eh? Maybe the excitement and positivity for you instantly disappears, but looking online that would be the case for Martin, who seems to have reached Lampardesque levels of negativity among the support.

I'm not sure how you equate Gerrard (a manager) to Ancelotti (a coach). I presume that the Gerrard model is not what the new owners want and that's why he is no longer under consideration. Going for Ancelotti is totally moving away from the Gerrard model.

It was a joke. I copied Gonzo's exact post, switching Martin for Ancelotti, and Warburton for Gerrard.

I've outlined my concerns about Ancelotti elsewhere.

I fully accept I'm swimming against the tide, re Martin.

Nothing about Martin seems positive at all, unless you enjoy being on the edge of your seat every single time we get a goal kick

Just think about the number of heart attacks among older supporters likely to result.....

That is bad enough, but how many charges of corporate culpable homicide, before the Yanks call it a day?
