This may be a cause of regret, or of rejoicing, but that is a debate for elsewhere, one with which I would, almost certainly, decline to engage. As he leaves the building, his response to questioning, on appointment of a coach, or indeed on any other matters pertaining to the future running of the Club, should have been short, simple, and to the point: 'It's not my call - ask the new guys on the block. I will keep my own counsel, unless they ask for my opinion, or advice.' That would have been both polite, and politic. Except to say that he saved us from the spivs. For that, he has my eternal gratitude.

Saved us from the spivs and in turn themselves became spivs. Now we need saved again.

Yes; but what locus does he have now (or at least when the shares are gone, or outwith his control prior to disposal)? You're misinterpreting me here, Dave King is ego tripping making out as if he's still important, the "kingmaker" of this transaction if you will, and trying to dictate who would be the best manager for the situation we're going to find ourselves in. When in reality, he's a big toys out the pram merchant that walked away when it mattered most and allowed Douglas Park to take liberties. The sooner he shuts up, concludes his side of selling his shares, and moves on, frankly the better. He is still hugely important especially regarding the takeover. It's his (and others) shares that the 49ers need to get their controlling interest. Once officially sold, he'll become irrelevant, until then he kinda is the "kingpin". He isn't and can't dictate anything - he got asked his opinion and gave an answer as well as reason as to why he believed SG would be the best candidate.
