RST Calls For Dundee United Boycott

In recent days, Dundee United have now heaped embarrassment twice on themselves and Scottish football.

By supporting the fixture scheduling demanded by the cowardly hand of hidden forces that permeates Scottish football their anti-Rangers agenda was exposed. Now their disgraceful attack on one the most respected referees in our game appears to have reinforced their bitterness against our club.

Today's laughable 'complaint' shows all the recklessness of a Willo Flood passback.

The RST calls for Rangers to decline any ticket allocation for Tannadice next season and urges all Rangers supporters to back this course of action.

Let's see whether the loss of at least £250,000 income is easier to swallow than their anti-Rangers bile.

PS I think that's a great idea by RST and good see some support of the referees.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm sick of this conspiracy theory nonsense which is all the more galling when you look back on the huge number of decisions that have went against us this season - including at least four on Saturday.

I would agree with a boycott so long as it was for all away games. It wouldnt be because of Levein's outburst (I can still understand his rage TBH), but it would be more to prove a point that hating Rangers and being anti Rangers will cost them. Its also 2 fingers to those who wanted us to go through this fixture pile up.

Dundee United plan to sue referee over Rangers match blunders

May 12 2008 By Neil Cameron

DUNDEE UNITED will seek to take legal action against referee Mike McCurry and the SFA following Saturday's controversial match against Rangers.

Record Sport can reveal Tannadice chairman Eddie Thompson met other club representatives yesterday to discuss McCurry's performance at Ibrox when he made a string of wrong decisions that went against United in the 3-1 win forWalter Smith's side.

Thompson is now looking to see if he can take any legal recourse against the official and his bosses at the SFA, although it is unclear what path he could go down in his attempt to get justice for his team.

Record Sport also understands that several people at Dundee United, including manager Craig Levein, have seen television pictures which appear to show McCurry saying to Rangers' Nacho Novo, "Good goal, Nacho" midway through the first half after the Spaniard had put his side 2-0 up.

Levein will certainly face a probe of his own because of his astonishing outburst after the Ibrox match.

The United boss was left furious with McCurry who denied his team a stonewall penalty when Davie Weir tripped Noel Hunt which, if given, could have meant a red card for the centre-half.

And a Danny Swanson goal was judged offside when the ball struck Weir on the way to the back of the net.

Levein also claimed Hunt was punched by Kirk Broadfoot and accused Daniel Cousin of butting Lee Wilkie.

Rangers are again the whipping boys in the media even though we have seen countless bad decisions by referees benefiting other teams over recent weeks.

Aberdeen for example have been very hard done by after being denied a point against Celtic and again denied a perfectly good goal against Motherwell, two decisions that knocked them out of the race for a Uefa cup spot but you can hear a pin drop in the media where their plight is concerened.

Celtic who should be no where near Rangers in the title race given the decisions they have had in the last six weeks and Dundee utd were very unfortunate on saturday.

only when it is Rangers though is there the furore that we are witnessing at the moment. When we beat celtic last time round the game was overshaddowed by the "should kevin Thompson been sent off" debate yet when we fell victim to Mcdonalds own goal and Hesselinks kungfu kick at Amdy Fye there was no such fuss. Again when we lost 2-1 to them Barry Robsons fore arm smash on Weir at the start of the game went unnoticed.

What should we do?

we get on with our Uefa cup final that were in. Like the Thompson incident earlier in the season it all conveniently surfaces right before a major european match. typical media hype and no more than we expect from the press. So get ready for the final and dont allow yourselves to be detracted from the main issue. forget about boycotts and forget about everyone else, we are in the biggest game in our History (in my life time anyway) and we should be enjoying the moment for what it is, a fantastic occasion for all involved in the club. nothing else should matter, so dont let it.
